CW Shows Likely to Resume Production in July

The Winchester boys are ready to carry on towards their conclusion. After months of uncertainty, it would seem that the CW shows that film in Vancouver, including Riverdale and Supernatural, are almost ready to head back into production. The projected filming start date for the various series is sometime after July 1st (which is Canada Day), as the cast will be required to quarantine for fourteen days before production begins. Safety guidelines are being hammered out and should be published soon.

When California governor Gavin Newsom announced that film and TV production could restart in LA this week, I was hopeful that Canada wouldn’t be far behind, given my anticipation for the variety of CW shows that shoot in Vancouver, such as the upcoming Superman & Lois. I’m thrilled that this has finally been addressed, and that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Additionally, the fact that July is even a possibility is a relief, as I had become resigned to the idea that, with the January premiere dates, nobody expected anything to adhere to a typical schedule for the season. Most network television shows typically begin production in July, so perhaps instead of LA’s Finest and Tell Me a Story reruns, fans will get lucky and some of the premiere dates may be moved up sooner or later. Hopefully, we get more information in the near future.

Are you glad that the Vancouver-filmed CW shows are gearing up to take flight once again, or do you think the Winchesters should keep Baby’s engine off for a little while longer? Could the premieres be pushed up a few weeks? Let us know in the comments and stay safe and healthy as Geeks + Gamers continues to bring more movie and TV news!
