EON “Reinventing” James Bond

According to James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, Ian Fleming’s iconic spy is in for a makeover. Ms. Broccoli recently sat down with Deadline for an exclusive interview concerning the future of the Bond film series. She says we’re at least two years from filming another 007 film, and casting hasn’t begun yet “because it’s a reinvention of Bond.” Check out more of her comments here:

“Nobody’s in the running. We’re working out where to go with him, we’re talking that through. There isn’t a script and we can’t come up with one until we decide how we’re going to approach the next film because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re reinventing who he is and that takes time. I’d say that filming is at least two years away.”

I’m glad to hear they’re going in a new direction with the character, or at least different from the Craig films. I’m not disturbed by the wait for another movie, either. It’s obviously not ideal, but I think quality matters more than quantity, and I don’t want them to rush to make another film. I will say that their “reinvention” is staring them right in the face; just make him more like the classic 007 from before 2000.

What do you think of them reimagining James Bond? Did you like Daniel Craig’s iteration, or do you miss when the movies were sexier? Let us know in the comments!

Timothy Dalton is so underrated! License To Kill is one of my fave James Bond movies, along with Spectre.
