The opening few minutes of the game created several chances for both sides. However, Barcelona were the ones to capitalize, scoring four goals. Meanwhile, Chelsea were kept goalless. The second half saw opportunities for Chelsea arise, though they were still unable to capitalize. Barcelona, on the other hand, cruised to victory without imposing any further damage to the score.

Chelsea will have to settle for their domestic Super League title, which they won a couple of weeks ago. Barcelona are currently undefeated in the domestic Spanish Primera Division, sitting atop the ladder with only a few games remaining. With the domestic cup competition still going, they have the chance to claim a coveted treble: domestic league title, Champions League title, and Domestic cup in the same season.
