Final Pinocchio Trailer Hits The Web

Disney released another trailer for the Pinocchio remake today, probably to build excitement leading up to the film’s Disney+ release on September 8th. The film stars Tom Hanks, Keegan-Michael Key, Cynthia Erivo, Joseph-Gordon Levitt, and more. Check out the latest trailer here:

I feel pretty silly after saying yesterday that I don’t think they’ll include Pleasure Island or Stromboli’s puppets, as we see both in the trailer. On a technical level, it’s a solid trailer that evokes memories and feelings about the animated film. I still doubt this movie will be as dark as the original, but I’m encouraged by the inclusion of the phrase “brave, truthful, and unselfish.” Those lessons are essential to Pinocchio’s character arc, which is, in turn, integral to the story. I still don’t expect this to be very good, but I love Tom Hanks, and I’ll probably watch it out of curiosity, if nothing else.
