Lars Mikkelsen Denies Rumors of Ahsoka Role

Ever since Ahsoka demanded to know the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn in The Mandalorian, fans have speculated about his involvement in the “Mando-verse.” Naturally, one of the biggest rumors has been that Lars Mikkelsen would reprise his role from Star Wars Rebels in live-action. Mikkelsen spoke to The Daily Express about potentially appearing in the upcoming Ahsoka series and had this to say:

“I am aware of that, yes… Well, I haven’t had the offer. But, yes, sure.”

The thing is, Lucasfilm has notoriously restrictive NDAs in place on current projects at all times. Even if Mikkelsen were indeed playing Thrawn in the live-action shows, he wouldn’t be at liberty to say as much until it had been formally announced. Liam Neeson denied any involvement in Obi-Wan Kenobi despite appearing in the final episode. Similarly, when Katee Sackhoff was asked about playing Bo-Katan in live-action, she merely referenced Lucasfilm’s “badass NDAs.” So, Mikkelsen’s statement actually tells us nothing. Just like before he said this, he could be in Ahsoka, or he could not be. I think they should absolutely get him back for the role; we don’t need another Grand Inquisitor situation. That was just embarrassing.

But what do you think? Do you think Lars Mikkelsen is returning, and do you want him to? Talk to us in the comments below!
