Little Mermaid Remake Gets a Poster

Today, Disney released the first poster for their 2023 remake of The Little Mermaid. It shows Halle Bailey’s iteration of Ariel looking at the human world, reminiscent of the original film’s poster. Take a look here: 

The poster looks fine for what it is. Still, it does little to abate my concern that these remakes will continue becoming less innovative. The last several have been lazy copy-paste jobs, unlike more creative ventures like Cinderella and The Jungle Book. I’ll still see the movie and hope for the best, but I’m not confident.
