Natalie Portman Would Return to Star Wars

Natalie Portman recently did an interview with GQ in which she responded to Reddit questions. A fan had a query regarding Portman’s possible Star Wars reprise, and she had this to say:
“I have no information on this. No one has ever asked me to return, but I’m open to it.”

I really like Padmé, especially in The Clone Wars. I always have since I was little and the prequels were coming out. Of course, I like Leia and Ahsoka more, but I find Padmé an underrated character. However, I don’t see any reason to bring the character back to the screen. There was no in-story reason to revisit Vader and Obi-Wan. Still, it’s obvious why Disney and Lucasfilm would want to. I think they would have far less incentive to include Padmé substantially in a movie or show, and I don’t think it’s warranted. It’s cool that Portman would be interested, but I doubt we’ll see her in Star Wars soon.

I agree, I don’t really see a reason for her to return other than for fan service and knowing Disney’s reputation, they will only ruin her legacy.
