Pete Hines Mentions the Elder Scrolls VI Release Date

There is some quite unfortunate news for fans of the Elder Scrolls series. Yesterday, Pete Hines, the Vice-President of public relations and marketing at Bethesda, responded to a tweet regarding more information on The Elder Scrolls VI. His tweet stated, “It’s after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about. So if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations”. This means that Starfield (Bethesda’s upcoming RPG) is their primary focus, and The Elder Scrolls VI is on the backburner for the time being.

Elder Scrolls Release

The only official announcement for The Elder Scrolls VI was the trailer, which was released on June 10th, 2018. Many fans were probably hoping to see a release date soon, but it seems like we will be waiting for Starfield to release in the meantime. The amount of time and effort put into these open-world RPG games are always abundant, so I had a feeling that they would be spacing their games out. However, it is a little disappointing having to wait so long between games. After all, Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls V in 2011.

What are your thoughts? Are you disappointed to hear that Bethesda won’t release The Elder Scrolls VI any time soon, or are you optimistic that Starfield may be a good distraction in the meantime? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to Geeks + Gamers for more gaming content!

Is the video game market so uncertain now that Bethesda is afraid to commit to their most popular franchise? Or is this a product of gamers moving to the MMO-model? I wish I understood why they seem to have abandoned the Elder Scrolls after experiencing nothing but success with it. Fortunately for us, there are modders willing to do the work that Bethesda now refuses. Skywind/Skyblivion, you’re our only hope!

How much time and resources could of been saved if they didn’t do fallout 76 and focused on these 2 projects. Shame

Elder Scrolls VI should have been the next game out instead of Fallout 76. I can sort of understand if they’re trying to mimic Rockstar with their literal years between Red Dead games, but Rockstar actually took the time to develop REALLY good games. Bethesda seems to have accomplished not only dropping the ball but punting it away from them with their customers’ private info being leaked. It almost feels like they’re trying to win a failure contest.

How is it that Bethesda was so beloved in 2015-2016. And in the span of 3-5 years is on the same level as EA and Activision??

Years☹️ Isn’t 9 years enough time? Well I hope we see a Skyrim next gen upgrade in the mean time. I’ve been playing Skyrim since release back in 2011 and it’s not a perfect game but I still go back to it It’s my go to game that I can kill an hour or two with every so often. But elder scrolls 6 still needs to hurry up

According to this news, I predict Elder Scrolls 6 to come out around 2025 to 2026, this game is years out.

Elder Scrolls is old news. Todd Howard screwed the franchise into the ground. I’m much more excited for “Once Lost Games” (founded by creators from the old era of Elder Scrolls) release.

Frankly there’s a handful of developers out there that do RPG way better than Elderscrolls – and any one of the series so far.

I hope Starfield is a good game, but I’m not expecting a lot.. I love single player RPG’s.. have for a long, long time. But so many games coming out recently just seem like clones of each other.. I had hopes for the Outer Worlds, but just couldn’t get into it.. so currently I’m playing old games..

Maybe Starfield, maybe the Elders Scrolls VI.. maybe Halo Infinite.. It’d be nice to have a new game that isn’t a disappointment.

Seems extremely silly to abandon for over 10 years the franchise that made your company famous.

Bethesda seem to flirt with their Fans and Audience. A lot. They have taken a page from Blizzard and shown us a ‘Glimpse’ of whats to come but….when it comes? That’s the question. Take Diablo: Immortal. First announced as well in 2018 and where is it?…yeah right. Diablo 4 was announced 2019. When will we get it?….yeah right. Understandable that Bethesda have had ‘Starfield’ in the works now and set for Next Gen release but don’t jump the gun and tease a project thats not even on even on the Horizon as yet. Even IF the Fans were bleeding to see/hear anything about ES:VI

Bethesda’s downfall is they waste time and resources fixing what doesn’t need fixing. Unnecessary experiments with multiplayer crap. Fallout 4 was a joke and so is 76. They are masters at world building but none of that matters if everything else is crap. They need a new writing team for sure. I have low expectations for Starfield. Even lower for TES VI. Skyrim was Bethesda’s last good game.
