I usually have a handful of main go-tos that I play most. I used to play all of the Blizzard titles – Starcraft, Diabolo, Warcraft (Wow, 3, and original Dota), Hearthstone, etc, but ever since I built my current computer, I have refused to install battle.net or anything for them. Now, I currently jump between the below:

1. PoE (Path of Exile) – I suck at it, but is a really great title that is a true successor to Diablo. They have been running for over a decade and continue to be for the players, and with PoE 2 on the horizon, will continue to beat out Diablo.

2. Cyberpunk 2077 – This is new for me, as I did enjoy Borderlands 1 and 2, and this has been a real joy for me to play. I never had the issues that others had since launch, and I find the story, especially the side quests, and the music to be huge draws, especially with Phantom Liberty.

3. Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 (Open RCT2) – This was my first game, outside of my Super Nintendo, that really got me into games – fun and educational, realistic and various real-world comparisons and knowledge.

4. Jurassic World Evolution and Lego Jurassic World – My main draws are anything in the Jurassic Park world, so these are a really common go-to for me. I love Lego Jurassic World as I can play through all of the movies. Jurassic World Evolution 1 and 2 fit with what I really wanted from a previous title Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis.

They used the same imagery/graphics they used last year. The same utterly annoying “woomp….shoom” sound for every….single….intro to a video. I absolutely am SICK of that sound being used for EVERYTHING now. All the music is the same too. Bang clash….woomp, clock ticking or sutle clipping sound, etc. It’s literally driving me mad having to hear it in everything now days. I am SOOOOO tired of it. Give us back the old trailers with actual music and the guy saying “Coming Soon to the Theatre near you….etc etc” I hate modern trailers.

The first few games were female leads. And then the announcer came on and it was a female. Clearly that was done on purpose.

And what…in…the…hell was that…thing for the character you are to play as in Fable? Was it a guy in woman’s clothes? It/she/him was UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!! Like,. car door to the face ugly.

I’ll wait to see what the new Star Wars game is tomorrow at the Ubisoft broadcast where they so ACTUAL game footage and not stupid CGI trailers that are frankly pointless imo.

The Starfield stuff was admittedly cool, but I am skeptical to see if they actually pull off what they are promoting. The other issue is, I don’t have a Xbox Series X. Xbox lost me in the Xbox One era, they haven’t improved with Series X. I really don’t feel like buying a $500 console just to play one game. I honestly think that will become an issue. Many people have PS5’s (like me) and don’t feel to buy a console just to play one game.

So, out of nearly two hours all I cared about the Starfield, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II (because I have the first game on my PS) , Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty (which I can thankfully get on my PS5), Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and the new Star Wars Outlaws game.

Sony has won this gen and last gen for many reasons. Xbox thinks that buying up game studios will save them….it wont!

It’s been awhile now.

I played and completed Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5, and enjoyed the living hell out of it. It really got fixed, a lot. I couldn’t deal with it before all the fixes. I waited. It’s still not perfect, but it is fixed enough to enjoy now and looks and runs 100 times better than it did before. And btw: Holy crap is Judy Alvarez hot.

I just started playing Tower of Fantasy since it just came out. But, it is not on console (yet?) and I can’t run it well on my PC.

I’ll probably get GOW Ragnarok. Though, I actually need to go and replay and finish the first game. I only got half way through or so.

I got Stray coming in the mail next month. I got the physical special edition, but it doesn’t ship until Sept.

I just got Deliver Us The Moon, and Deliver Us Mars is coming early next year.

Resident Evil 4 is coming too.

I am a big Robocop fan, have been since they came out in the 80’s. I saw this the other day. I’ll be getting this.

There is mods for Cyberpunk 2077 that add him in to that game too, but I don’t have Cyberpunk on PC.

Elden Ring looks cool. Pity it is a Soulsverse game and far too hard for my tastes to ever want to put up with. I’d have loved to play many of those games, but the difficulty is a huge turn off. Not my thing.

Currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 with the next gen update. I started over from scratch after having played it on PS4 Pro, trophies don’t carry over. It is WAYYY better now, I am actually enjoying it now. Not a single crash or glitch so far. It looks WAY better too.

I got Horizon Forbidden West (Regalia edition) PS5, but the game needs some fixing before I’ll play more. I played for 10 min and already had a glitch. So, I’ll wait until things are ironed out more. A little disappointed it’s not running better even after the delay. I was really looking forward to this game. Ohh well. The Regalia edition is disappointing as well. The statue broke right out of the box and is a bit ridiculous to put together frankly. After paying 270 bucks for a broken statue and glitchy game. I am not very happy right now. I should have just got the Collectors edition without the statue, I really don’t want it put up anywhere. It’s ugly frankly. I wanted Aloy (like they did with the first game) In fact, I am pretty much done buying games at launch at this point. Been burned enough times now over the years.

I really have no games I am looking forward to now. Stray, yes the game about Cats. It looked interesting. Maybe Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga. Suicide Squad maybe, but I don’t like the Harley Quinn design. Gotham Knights looks cool, but it may be WOKE and I am NOT interested in that.  Forspoken looks interesting, but also looks WOKE as hell. Chernoblite is coming to PS5.

Been thinking of finally getting a Nintendo console, the new Switch LED. I quit Nintendo when the Gamecube died because I had no interest in Wii or Wii U gimmick motion sensing crap with convoluted controllers. Frankly, the only Nintendo game I care to buy is Zelda and Metroid, so i’l have some catching up to do as I have no played Zelda since Wind Waker. But, the main reason I want a Switch is to get Japanese games UNCENSORED!!! They censor them on PS5, so I wont buy them.

In closing, I spend a lot of time playing Genshin Impact these days. Once I got a PS5 I was able to enjoy the game more than I tried to on PS4 Pro. I am no top tier hard mode player, I just enjoy the imagery and design. I have a lot unlocked and a few LVL 80 characters now. But, I also play on WL4 and refuse to do the next Ascension Quest because it forces the game to be harder, and I DONT want that. I really don’t like the forced difficulty in the game.

i finished 1 story of Cyberpunk 2077 before then I deleted the game to play other games.

I wanted to play again now with the next-gen update in my ps5, but damn, I need 160GB of space… I have to delete 3 – 4 games to be able to play cyberpunk again now   :’D

i guess i’ll buy a ssd to upgrade the ps5…

I am currently hyped about Cyberpunk 2077.  I just started playing it (on PC) and it’s great post fixes.  For anyone that loves a good story it’s awesome.

I’m very surprised not to see The Last of Us 2 on any of these lists.  Game journalists keep telling me that it’s the most popular, beloved, bestest game EVARRRRR!  ;-)

I have a few random thoughts on this. I’ll bullet point them.

– The mainstream being so fond of slut shaming wasnt really a thing until Trump got elected. Trump has a super hot wife so villifying attractive ladies was just another  way to push the orange man bad narrative. With him out, sex sells could slowly become the norm again.

– Comic Books, while still woke as fuck, are beginning to have attractive art again (outside of the YA novels, of course). The actual stories are still trash but the art is pretty nice to look at it.

-Some television shows seem to be trying to be sexier, as well. Even Batwoman, the wokest of TV, replaced Ruby Rose with an attractive actress. I watched Az’s review of episode 3 and she is in shirts that show off her tits or mid-drift several times in the episode.  Again, meaning the trends could be changing.

-I feel the “all western characters are ugly” narrative is a bit over exaggerated. Apex Legends, Rogue Company, Tomb Raider, Cyberpunk 2077, Mortal Kombat 11 are a few examples of western games that have sexy ladies.  Even, the ladies in the newer COD games are pretty hot.

-I think what you are actually asking is, “When do we get massive tits and skimpy outfits again?”.
-The tits come back when culture shifts back to people being into tits as much as ass.  Years of big tits full of silicone putting alot of people off on big tits because they were fake and western devs hyper focusing on realism in games can be attributed, partially, to why the went away, as well.
-Skimpy outfits havent completely disappeared but because of Sony’s (the biggest gaming platform) rules, they have to be tamer.  They sexy costumes are, also, usually DLC because people will be more likely to buy them (Black Widow’s super tight suit in Marvel’s Avengers or. the classic lady ninja costumes in MK11, for example)

-Younger folks, teens, young adults are exposed to Twitch Thots, Onlyfans, Instagram and Tic Tok models on a regular basis. When they reach the age to get into the business and, eventually, start getting leadership roles, they will understand that” sex sells”.

– The people that buy the Japanese and indie games that feature the kind of content you want will be the people that convince the west it’s a viable and profitable option to sell that kind of content. No trend is, immediately, accepted by the mainstream. If no one supports the smaller or niche companies that that produce the kind of content you want, it will never be accepted.  Resident Evil 8 may be Japanese. Sense-A Cyberpunk Ghost Story may be indie but enough people supporting titles like these, that feature the content and attitude devs/publishers should have is how you get the EAs and Activisions of the world to jump on board.

Been a backer since 2016, aside from spending the initial package of both the PU and Squadron 42, I spent an additional 15 dollars just to upgrade from the school bus to the penguin. A lot of hate towards this game typically comes from two camps: non-backers who never touched the game or people who were hoping the game would be finished within a year.

This game sits comfortably with the idea that it will actually meet hype and expectations but at the cost of time. Every new update just draws it closer and closer to the reality of what Chris promised during the Kickstarter campaign. I’ve seen a plethora of features that honestly I have seen elsewhere but poorly done, half-baked, or just never done at all. At the current state of the game, I would argue it has more completed features, more gameplay loops, more details than most games out there. And it just gets bigger and bigger without killing bandwidth or my computer. I’m perfectly content with waiting, not a lot of people are but considering the disaster of Cyberpunk 2077, waiting is something most games should strive for.
