I have been a Star Wars fan since 1977. I was 4. I saw it 10 times in the theatre (my mom was poor and freshly divorced so it was all she could afford to do to make me happy and have something to do, knowing I loved it so much) and when that star destroyer came on screen chasing the rebel blockade runner it forever changed my life. When Vader came on screen I knew what I wanted to be when I grow up. A Sith! lol. I have a collection that more than fills a room. I have read over 100 of the books, now called “Legends”. Piles of the comics, etc. I am a fan through and through. Heck, I even did a death metal album all about The Sith, which was never released sadly. I started writing my own Star Wars book too once. So, when I have an opinion on SW, I know my stuff.
I watch all these shows, for free, through “other means”. I refuse to give Disney my money. That being said….
Between all the content creators and news sites, they have it MORE than covered talking about it. Covered to the point of nausea for me. I can’t go to my Youtube feed without it being everywhere. No joke. I’m really tired of it. They did the same thing with the Helldivers 2 drama, and the Stellar Blade drama.
I personally am sick of seeing the continual on and on and on and on video after video after video of the same things being said over and over again about the show. Yes, I know, the show isn’t very good. The witches are stupid and them calling the force “the thread” is just pointless and nonsensical, having the name of Sol from a Korean actor is really stupid, the witch chant in the ceremony was beyond cringe, Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra Rwoh is stiff and wooden, yadda yadda. I KNOW. But does every single content creator need to say the same thing and make video after video about it? Seriously. I get sick of this.
So, I am going to say MY opinion. I don’t think the show is as bad as everyone is letting on. Yes, there is cringe, there is bad dialogue, and there is some really stupid shit. But, I think the actor Lee Jung-jae does a good job and portrays emotion well. I think the scene where little Osha admits to her “mother” that she wants to be a Jedi knowing it would take her away from everyone forever was rather touching. I think the color grading and imagery is well done.
So, would it be a crime for some of these content creators to say some of the positive things? POSITIVE!!! You know, that thing humans might need in this fallen world? POSITIVITY! Because the show is not 100% horrible. Nothing is. Or is it more important to get clicks and views to milk it for content cash? Another thing I am tired of. Last weeks FNT had them screen grabbing an entire episode and making fun of it where I had to turn it off since I got sick of it. You could do that with ANY show frankly, but clearly they wanted to milk it dry for The Acolyte. Sure, it’s funny for a moment or a few scenes to do that, but it dragged on and on and was into the stupid territory, having me turn it off.
I recently went through and re-watched every single Star Wars show that has been on Disney+. All seasons of Mando, Book of Boba Fett, Obi Wan, Ahsoka, and Andor. You know what? I actually enjoyed Book of Fett more the second time, yes, it still has some crap, but it was better on my second viewing. As was Ahsoka. As was season 3 of Mando, I enjoyed it more this time. Obi Wan just has no hope with that show sadly. And I flat out love Andor.
My point is, there is some good in the bad, and sometimes things aren’t as bad as they are made out to be for clicks and views. We need to inject some positivity into things and not focus on all the negativity.
I dare all these content creators to once per week make a video with something positive, something they enjoy, something good. We’ll all be better for it.
This news has been going around for a few days now and it is annoying the hell out of me because the second I read/heard it I knew it was a lie for one simple reason. They are not mentioning the budget of all the movies and tv shows which also goes against that claimed profit.
Here is an article for reference in the Disney claims that they made an 8 billion profit off Star Wars so far. It is a LIE!
https://www.cbr.com/disneys-huge-star-wars-profits-revealed/
Lucasfilm was purchased for $4.05 billion. Disney actually says it was a 12 million profit, but the $4.05 billion cost to purchase Lucasfilm is removed to make it 8 billion profit. So, let’s use that that logic shall we? They are failing to mention the budget of each movie and tv show, and how much that is combined to be removed from that profit margin.
So, here are the (sometimes estimated) budget costs of each tv show and movie so far:
Movies
The Force Awakens – $447 million budget
The Last Jedi – $300 million budget
The Rise of Palpatine – $416 million budget
Rogue One – $232 million budget
Solo: A Unwanted Star Wars Story – $271 million
TV Shows
Obi Wan – $90 million budget
Ahsoka – $100 million budget
The Book of Boba Fett – $105 million budget
Andor – $250 million budget
The Clone Wars Seasons 7 – Unknown
Tales of the Jedi – Unknown
Star Wars Visions Season 1 and 2 – Unknown
The Mandalorian – $360 million budget (all 3 seasons combined)
(Upcoming shows that are already filmed and nearly done so count towards this)
The Acolyte – $170 million budget
Skeleton Crew – $136 million budget
Andor Season Two – Unknown
But wait, there is more. One thing people forget is that Indiana Jones is ALSO Lucasfilm. And we had Dial of Destiny didn’t we?
Indian Jones and the Dial of Destiny – $295 million budget
Ohh, but there is one more. Willow. Yes, the Willow tv series that you can’t even watch anymore. That is also a Lucasfilm production.
Willow tv show – $105.9 budget.
Add all this up and you have 3.4 billion estimated budget costs across all productions. We don’t know the budget of four of these and there is also other fee’s and advertisement, etc. So, I am going to be very generous and say 3.4 billion in budget for everything. That means the claimed 8 billion in profit goes down to 4.6 billion in profit. And, again, that is being generous. It’s realistically probably closer to 4. Disney spent 4.05 billion to buy Lucasfilm and has only made less than 4.6 billion in profit from it after all budgets and everything said and done.
Disney is lying. As are all the articles and news about it.
End of Line.
I’m going to go with Ashoka Tano. Ahsoka Tano, the beloved former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, has become an iconic character in the Star Wars universe, transcending her animated origins.
From her debut in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” to her pivotal role in “Star Wars Rebels,” Ahsoka exemplifies resilience, wisdom, and a profound connection to the Force. Her journey from a young and brash apprentice to a seasoned and independent Force user captivates fans, showcasing her strength and determination amid the turmoil of the galaxy.
The addition of a custom lightsaber further underscores Ahsoka’s evolution. Crafted to reflect her unique combat style and dual-wielding prowess, the custom lightsabers, with their distinctive white blades, symbolize her divergence from traditional Jedi norms and her forging of a path guided by her own principles.
Ahsoka Tano’s narrative and the custom lightsaber stand as testaments to individuality, growth, and the enduring spirit of the Force, making her a cherished figure in the Star Wars legacy.

Ya, there have been rumors of KK’s removal for years, and she is still there. I got sick of hearing every few weeks an new rumor of her being fired, or removed, or quitting, etc. It got ridiculous. The new final rumor is that she will step-down after Indy 5 comes out. We can hope so. But, will it really change anything? Disney is hell bent on being woke and promoting identity politics. So, I seriously doubt any new leadership will change much for us fans getting better Star Wars, or more of what we want.
I greatly enjoyed Andor, a lot. I have enjoyed Mando up until this new season where it has fallen way off the quality map. The writing has been bad and the story is going nowhere fast. Especially this last episode, it was absolutely horrible. Jack Black, Lizzo, and Christopher Lloyd. WHY? Utterly pointless characters forcing Mando to do a side quest, on a side quest. They also had Grogu being “knighted”…but isn’t that an EARTH custom? Why is that in a Star Wars show? The last 5 min were awesome, but the rest of the episode was complete garbage. Right up there with Picard Season 1 and 2. It was just freakin’ horrible. This new season is just FULL of filler pointless nonsense that goes nowhere. The plot has taken 6 episodes to get anywhere and supposedly the last two episodes of the season will be bangers. So, why have 8 episodes then? What exactly is the point in making 75% of your season filler? Make it 4 episodes and make them all good, and MAKE THEM LONGER THAN 30 freakin’ MIN with 5 min of stuff that actually matters!!! Anyway….
The Ahsoka trailer is cool, even more so the Extended trailer you can only find from a cell phone leak of it. I have anticipation for that, partly because Ahsoka is one of my fav characters in all of Star Wars. I loved Clone Wars and Rebels. And dear god did they NAIL the character Sabine in who they chose to play her. If there is anything announced or shown that I think will be good, it is Ahsoka.
Acolyte. Ya. So much bad vibes because of WHO is making that show, that being a feminist who worked for Harvey Weinstein. I mean, the footage I saw (leaked) seemed interesting, but I don’t have much hope at all for that one.
As far as all the other announcements. Ya, we’ll see if any of them actually get to production (well, I am sure the Dave Filoni movie will). I don’t care about Rey, and especially the ACTIVIST woman who will the direct the movie.
From what I have noticed in all of this is that everything seems VERY female centric now. And, I don’t find that a positive. Any men in stuff are bad guys. Thrawn, the bad guy in the Ahsoka trailer, etc. Mando is almost a side kick on his own show now.
I just saw the Ashoka trailer and I WANT to love it but the trailer was running for quite awhile before I saw a male character. I’m hoping it’s not more of the same as I love the Ahsoka character. I hope it’s not the same argument that they had to bring in more woman characters because there weren’t enough strong characters in star wars . But I always respond with Leia, Mara, Mon Mothma, Natasi Daala, aura Sing, darth Zannah, Ventress, etc etc
Potential Spoilers ahead.
Ya, Ep 4 was indeed a tear jerker. It also had a proper SW feel to it. Yaddle was trying to help an old friend who she was agreeing with and even left the council herself. It was sad and tragic yet so well told.
I personally am a HUGE Ahsoka fan, even though I am usually a dark sider…but I just freakin love Ahsoka, so I was giddy as a school boy with her episodes. She took out that inquisitor with barely any effort. I loved every second of her. They want to talk about strong independent women, well they have had one all along!!!
I have Prime. I’ll watch for “free” just to see how bad it ends up being. A co-worker was saying how excited she was about this show, and she asked me about it, and I said I have no interest in it. She was perplexed, knowing I am a nerd. I simply said they aren’t following Tolken’s characters and stories and are changing races and genders to inject their politics in a place where it doesn’t belong. I don’t support that.
She said her son and husband binge watched Obi Wan, they loved it, and asked if I watched it. I said I hated it. :)
At least her and I can talk about our love for Ahsoka.
Some of us are able to use critical thinking and not just like something because it is Star Wars or LOTR.
I am not a Theme Parks person, and frankly, the Star Wars park looks like a glorified shopping mall to me. I have zero interest in it, especially with their prices. I personally have never been to Disneyland or any parks. I really just have no interest in spending all that money in them. I have been here a few times though : Enchanted Forest https://www.enchantedforest.com
I liked The Mandalorian, Bad Batch, The Clone Wars Season 7, and Rogue One. Solo was meh, a rather pointless movie no one wanted. The sequel trilogy was flat out bad, unless you like CGI porn of some of the characters, then it’s good. lol. I have absolutely ZERO interest in anything High Republic. Boba Fett is disappointing, and a little sad frankly because this just is NOT Boba Fett. While I did enjoy some of the Tusken stuff, we are yet again on Tatooine. AGAIN. And, we will be there again with the Obi Wan show. The Krrsantan fight was just….bad. He would have DESTORYED all those people. When he gripped Boba in his arm’s he would have crushed all his ribs. It is VERY clear to me watching this show that it has been Disneyfied and toned way down. We have yet another case of a villain turning into a hero somehow, completely out of character, over and over again with this from anything related to Disney.
Let’s get away from the planets we continually go to. The characters we continually tell about. How about some Chiss and their planet Csilla? Let’s have a show about the Empire after ROTJ dealing with defeat and it’s retreat. NO HERO’S!
I am looking forward to Ahsoka, and on the fence about Obi Wan. Andor? Meh. The Acolyte? Nope, not with that woke show runner. Not interested in the Taiki Waititi movie, I am not a fan of his directing. I hated Thor Raganrok. But I will say I liked his voice acting for the IG droid in Mando. Rogue Squadron movie, we’ll see. I am sure it will be a female lead per the wokeness of them all. Lando show, nope. Droid Story, not really. Kevin Feige movie, nope.
I do not sub to Disney+, I do not give them my money. I watch through :other: means. I feel the pain of fellow Star Wars fans. I saw Star Wars in 1977 10 times. I was 4. It changed me, no joke. The best thing to do is not give Disney your money.
Too many to list only one.

This could be really, really good. They should get Japanese writers for Jedi/Sith stories as well. I enjoyed Ahsoka in Clone Wars and I enjoyed REBELS a bunch using that Pixar tech. If they can refine a good Japanese Anime team, there is vast potential and, let’s be honest, this is a GREAT move to add to Star Wars. Star Wars has always done a great job at merchandising and this is another vehicle and avenue to showcase Star Wars. Japanese writers would do a great job with The Force, as they could put in elements of Zen Buddhism and Bushido concepts into The Force. They could make their Jedi have a “spiritual wind” which is something they believe in, in the case, the “spiritual wind being The Force.
It adds yet another tool to the Star Wars arsenal. Hope it’s done well.
The finale was in no way “woke” you bring up the 4 women and 1 man. You seem to forget the person who saved the day was LUKE a MAN. None of the boarding crew were going to live until Luke showed up and saved the day.
Had they wanted to go “Woke” it would have been easy to have Ahsoka show up to save them or another (strong female Jedi character). The third woman was in the original show with the “BO” the guy was missing but that could easily be explained as he was on a mission for her, and had Disney not done Gina wrong in the next season or spinn-off he might be back with where he went. The women did not feel woke or even off to me, never gave it a second thought.
As to why Boba was not part of the crew, he was the distraction. Plus having Boba and Luke cross paths would probably been a serious issue. Boba Knows Luke and they have a History that for it to have been believable would certainly fought or had major conflict.
Think about it; had Boba been on the Cruiser he would have had to Die or escape before Luke got there, If he died <NO book of Boba> had he ran he would have Broke his oath to Mando and been seen as a traitor <no one would want to see book of Boba then>. Now had he been trapped on the Bridge he would have had to fight Luke <their history comes in to play> or <Major tension that took away from the power of the scene> Theatrically and for the Story Boba could not be there with Luke.
The show was good, the Finale was awesome, people need to stop looking for “woke” in everything, if you have to look for it, it wasn’t really there.
