Age of Ultron was adequate for me. I liked the movie, but see where critics are coming from with the jokes. Marvel was so good back then that anything they did worked. What I liked about some Marvel movies was just the little things. The little thing I liked in Age of Ultron was when Hawkeye got shot in the beginning and had to go to a 3-D Printing machine to heal his tissues and organs. https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Regeneration_Cradle It is good science and good reading and good possibilities to see organic 3-D Printing in practice. It’s a touch of futurism. Michio Kaku would have a field day with it.
Marvel also explored 3-D Printing in Spider-Man: No Way Home where Peter printed a Stark suit on the jet. https://scitechdaily.com/6x-tougher-than-kevlar-spider-silk-is-spun-by-genetically-modified-silkworms-for-the-first-time/ The 3-D printing or organic tissue or other materials is one little, teeny tiny thing that used to make Marvel movies super interesting. Sometimes, even one scene in a sci-fi movie makes it worth watching even if the overall movie is not very good. Key scenes. Does a movie have that? Marvel used to have an aura of greatness about it.
Same, the only show i really didn’t like was Loki (i don’t want him to die though), and Falcon & WS though it had some fun moments was ultimately a mess, they tried too hard to push an agenda, they don’t seem to understand that if they just let things happen organically people won’t have a problem with it, Hawkeye’s a good example of yes we know the agenda is there but it’s not being shoved down our throats by saying “black black black” “gay gay gay” 100 million times
There’s one scene in wich one of the larpers gives Hawkey her bag she’d put his arrows in it, and when Hawkeye wants to bring the whole bag with him she’s like “please don’t brake it, my wife made it for me”, and that’s perfectly fine, it’s a simple and cute sceme that would work with any couple
The show did not hook me at all and I passed on it. I actually like the girl and think she is very good on camera. It’s actually kind of random if I’m into a show or movie or not. One thing I gotta say is you know who should be Hawkeye? John Campea, since John Campea is letting a chick take over his show and he’s becoming a sidekick of the lady. Good for you, John Campea.
Hawkeye is Another Bait-and-Switch FAILURE | Disney is DESTROYING The MCU
Nerdrotic
Hawkeye is another Disney Plus Disaster. What is now typical Disney Marvel predictable M-She-U Bait-and-Switch storytelling. Disney and Kevin Feige finish their worst year continuing their mission to deconstruct and destroy what made The MCU popular in the first place. It wasn’t enough to make Hawkeye a guest star in his own series. Kingpin is finally brought and made to look like a fool. That isn’t the worst of it. Disney Plus is Marvel’s version of The CW
Disney Plus Hawkeye Series Episodes 1 & 2 Review

George The Giant Slayer
Disney Plus’ Hawkeye is the current live action show in the MCU television lineup. It came out of the gate appealing to everyday people and die hard fans’ affection for the grounded master archer. Only, to have Disney pull a boiler room pump and dump scam; convincing audiences that the show was centered around the original Jeremy Renner Hawkeye when in fact it focuses on Kate Bishop and passing the baton from Renner’s Hawkeye to her. This should have been called the Kate Bishop show and that would have set the proper expectations. But then no one would have shown up to watch the series.
This game Disney played is exactly why Hawkeye is the lowest rated series in the MCU live action family.
She had her breakthrough with the western drama film True Grit (2010), which earned her nominations for the Academy Award, BAFTA Award and the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Steinfeld rose to mainstream prominence for her lead roles in Ender’s Game (2013),
As someone who still has the original run of Sensational She-Hulk comics, all 50 of them, I was sort of anticipating this. But, I am sure it will be woke somehow like all the Marvel TV shows have been so far. They have already ruined Hawkeye in three episodes.
Hawkeye: You 18?
Kate: I’m 22
Congratulations to Marvel for making Kate Bishop very relatable 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ok, jokes aside, watched the first 2 episodes of Hawkeye, and so far i’m very plesantly surprised 👍 Like @DarthVengeant said, Kate is not a Mary Sue, the center stage part, i guess that’s true for episode 1 since they used it to introduce her character, but by episode 2 Hawkey and Kate have equal amount of screentime and an equally important role in trying to solve the Ronin mystery, Hawkey is really fartherly towards Kate looking out for her and trying to keep her safe, while Kate is very eager to help her fav superhero fight bad guys, it’s a very sweet and wholesome relationship and i hope Marvel keeps it that way thruout the series and beyond :3 And there’s a super-cute doggy 🐶💖 I wonder if doggy’s also gonna get a Hawkeye suit 🤩
Yeah, she does. I went to check out the Hawkeye comics, and a lot of them were already Kate Bishop and then, Old Man Hawkeye, just like Old Man Logan. The problem is, most of media is woke now, so I have tuned out. Not sure how much these shows depend on the left but there was talk of a boycott of this show over an artist’s work. Upon seeing the headline, it struck me as a built-in excuse. I’d think a good show would succeed regardless. First season or two of Arrow was really good and then, it really trailed off, which is the norm now.
Saw a comment that he was just a supporting character and I tend to agree with that. I was never much into most of these characters, so none of this bothers me. One run called Hawkeye:Blindspot, looks pretty good, like effort went into it. I have nothing against the show, personally, it’s for the fans and audience to decide.
I guess she will be the new Hawkeye.
Does she become Hawkeye in the comics?
Seems like Hawkeye is not the main star in his own show. I came across a review of sorts here in New Zealand.
I discuss it here if you are interested in hearing about it. Cheers.
If I were rebooting the MCU, or continuing it from Endgame, I would focus on only a few new characters/teams to develop. The existing ones that would make the cut would be Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, Falcon, Bucky, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. I’d also like to bring back some of Marvel’s old Netflix shows, like Daredevil and Punisher, that would target a more mature audience. Characters I’d like to introduce to the new MCU would probably be the Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), She-Hulk (classic, not modern), Blade, Namor, Silver Surfer and Moon Knight.
I’d also like to bring in the X-Men and Deadpool, but they would be from an alternate universe so as to not conflict with the world-building. The X-Men lineup would start with Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler and Beast. I’d also like to bring in Venom as well, especially if his movies can canonically take place in that universe.
As for the villains, I plan on each hero to have an archenemy so there’s a constant threat in their solo movies. They would be Norman Osborn/Green Goblin (Spider-Man), Baron Mordo (Doctor Strange), time-displaced Loki (Thor), Agatha Harkness (Scarlet Witch), Sonny Burch (Ant-Man), Baron Zemo (Falcon & Bucky), Kingpin & Bullseye (Daredevil), Jigsaw (Punisher), Doctor Doom (Fantastic Four), Mephisto (Ghost Rider & Silver Surfer), Titania or the Leader (She-Hulk), Deacon Frost (Blade), Attuma (Namor), Raoul Bushman (Moon Knight) and Magneto/Brotherhood of Mutants (X-Men). That way, there’s a clear obstacle for each hero to overcome in their own story, giving more stakes to the solo films.
Of course, there would have to be an overarching villain for each hero to come together and face, with the most obvious ones being Galactus or Kang the Conqueror. Another possible choice would be the Beyonder from Secret Wars, or even the Grandmaster if he decided to kidnap every hero and force them into participating in his Contest of Champions (that is, if the people of Sakaar still allow him to rule, but he’d probably find somewhere else to settle).
For the characters that would be retired, they’d be Carol Danvers (I’d have Rogue steal her powers and put her in a coma for the entire length of the franchise), the Eternals, Black Panther (because of Chadwick’s unfortunate passing), Shang-Chi, Hawkeye (I just think he should go home and be a family man), and all the yet-to-be introduced characters, like Kamala Khan, Ironheart, Kate Bishop, America Chavez and Jane Foster Thor.
Sorry to go on-and-on, but, as a huge Marvel fan, I am just uninterested in many of the new projects the MCU has in the future. I have no interest in seeing Eternals, I STILL haven’t gone on Disney+ to watch Black Widow, and the only new stuff I’m interested in are Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange 2. I hope the fans voice their opinions on Phase 4 and for the people at Marvel Studios to listen to their feedback (which, as we all know, will likely never happen). Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this entire response. Hope y’all have a great day.
I have no problem with fans and what people watch. I never judge because we all grew up heavily on media. Vigilante was used in Arrow as well. “verisimilitude”
Marvel’s ‘HAWKEYE’ Trailer Review | BALLS DEEP into the M-She-U!
Nerdrotic Daily
For me, Gary is a lot of fun to listen to. Agree about being built or yoked, but it depends. I took an archery class once and there was a moose of a lady there who was a great shot with her compound bow, but she looked almost like a shot putter. Big woman. Attractive, but huge. In sports, some of the athletes look like normal people, so you can never really tell by body type.
Also, I thought that masculinity was covered well in first season of Arrow. At around the same time, Agents of SHIELD was going on, and Grant Ward was treated the same way as Oliver Queen in terms of their rite of passage to masculinity. In both shows, the men had to become survivalists in remote nature locations. They had to learn how to hunt and trap and defend themselves like animals. In nature, you kill what you eat and you have to do it yourself. Those two shows had real masculinity
Based on the trailer alone, i’m actually plesantly surprised, it looks like a fun Marvel christmas special 🎄 It better be just that
The first Trailer for the Hawkeye series has dropped and once again Marvel is going M-SHE-U. Clint Barton is going to take a back seat to let the self professed “Greatest Archer in the World” steal lead duties.
how do people have the energy to reeee about all this. When a character gets swapped to something they’re not in the comics people reeee about ”that’s not how it was in the comics” (which I understand). But when they swap to characters that are in the comics, people… still reee?
There’s gonna be a generation swap now as the previous cast is getting old, and in the comics Kate is the new Hawkeye so it makes sense for her to step in. I really see no problem here. The only problem is do we really even need a new Hawkeye? Hawkeyes aren’t that useful in the grand scheme…
Disney and Marvel keep pumping out this rubbish as people are so easily suckered into these things
well if you bring in a lot of new characters and plot points, it’s obvious you should explain some background for them without needing to waste time of a movie to giving background info about something. That’s where the series are helpful.
