Since I switched to Kubuntu in June, 2022, I have found only a tiny handful of windows games or programs that I absolutely couldn’t get to work. The one I was most disappointed in was CorelDraw, which apparently is virtually impossible to get to work in Linux. However, I was able to switch over to Inkscape to replace it, so it wasn’t a big loss.

I’ve learned that between WINE, and Steam with Proton, I can get pretty much every Windows program to work, including both games and other software. For example, I had some trouble with Goldwave audio editor using WINE, so I added the Goldwave setup file to Steam, changed the compatibility to Proton Experimental, and it works from Steam with virtually no issues.

In most cases I can find Linux-native Free/Open Source alternatives to Windows programs and I use them wherever possible (GIMP, Inkscape, Libreoffice, Scribus, Kate, XNView, FIlezilla, Simplescreenrecorder, Shotcut, etc.). My biggest concern when switching was if the games would work, because that was the only thing holding me onto Windows for years. When Valve decided to create the Steam Deck, they had a vested interest in getting as many games as possible to work in Linux because that’s what the Steam Deck uses. So they made a fork of WINE called Proton and pretty much anything I can’t get to work with WINE, I can get to work with Proton.

There are only 2 games I have had major issues with, which are Demigod and Europa Universalis 3. But every other Steam or GOG game I’ve tried has worked with either no or virtually no issues. Most have no issues at all. This includes all of the Witcher games, Mount & Blade II, Solasta, all of the Total War Warhammer & historical games, Mechwarrior 5, Planet Zoo, Horizon Zero Dawn, Skyrim, Ark: Survival Evolved, all the Mass Effect games (Legendary edition), No One Lives Forever, and many others.

You can check the compatibility of pretty much everything with https://www.protondb.com/ and https://appdb.winehq.org/.

I’ve even been able to run some ancient DOS stuff with DOSBox with no problems at all.

Unfortunately, I haven’t tried installing anything from physical disks which is why it’s hard for me to help with that.

I would never switch back to Windows at this point. Linux is completely free, doesn’t have ads or spy on you, doesn’t force you to update anything, and just leaves you alone to do what you want. The KDE desktop is amazing, and has so many customization features. Windows was like a prison for me, and I felt like a victim using it, not a user.

Couldn’t agree more. For me, this is not that big a deal. Of course, I drop it and have quit a lot of things for life, and when a person does quit these habits, it makes you realize it was kind of a drug. Gaming is just one thing, but I already quit watching sports, quit ESPN, quit some comics and I rarely watch movies and shows. All are woke. They sided with the kneelers which was just a psyop to get people to submit and they hid behind racial groups to groom people to kneel and worship the false idol of sports. All this woke trash comes with blaming and accusation from rich career, high profile, high status people and I’ll never support any of it again.
We also saw this with The Acolyte, but by the time that show came along, it’s just the same old story we’ve had to deal with our entire lives starting in grade school, the frivolous accusations, the grooming, the antiwhite and antiwestern hate that they embraced from the UN and the EU. One person said that once they got the world to hate white farmers in South Africa, then they just do the same to any white western person who has very little, but globalists want to take that, too.

I never thought I’d get like this because people liked consumerism and people liked corporations, but all that left me. I have contempt for celebrities now and their moronic preachy speeches and, since the plandemic scamdemic, it exposed that corporate commercial messages are toxic poison. Another thing I dropped a very long time ago was CNN. CNN, like these gaming companies, lied about Bubba Wallace, Jussie Smollet, Kyle Rittenhosue, Nick Sandmann, lied us into wars and ripped us off for billions and continue to do so. I cannot relate to people who listen to these celebrities or these reporters anymore. All have been exposed as liars and frauds. The gaming companies hitched their wagon to this Vampire Squid HYRDRA Kraken of ESG and DEI from BlackRock and Larry Fink and Steve Schwartzmann over there at BlackStone. Both bought out Webtoons and Manga recently to feminize the messaging, that was their one goal.

Last thing, but I gotta give people like Gigga and Madam Savvy credit for punching up and saying don’t support and to boycott. Real authentic people. One of the saddest things about all this is the amount of preachers I’ve actually heard say that boycotting makes no difference and they actually shill for demonic corporations that have evil symbols, but that’s a whole other tangent.

Gamers are clearly more aware and more astute that the sports fans. Gamers get it. Sports fans remain hypnotized zombies and just get pummeled with AIDS commercials and social justice messages and ads and commercials and all kinds of subliminal messages to break them down. That’s the thing that has been really interesting in all of this is that it’s all so counterintuitive. The Gamers, Nerds, Geeks, Dorks all stand up for themselves much more than sports fans, who kneel and beg and grovel and worship at the false altar of power of corporate money banking.

Last film I saw Hayden in was Disney’s ‘Dinosaur’ back in 2000 (very underrated film even if the Carnators were mutated to make them more intimidating lol but maybe I’m being biased because I love dinos lol. The destruction of Lemur Island still brings a tear to my eyes even after more than twenty years.). Yeah I’m old enough to remember when she was a child actress. Damn I’m old lol. I always thought she was adorable and still seems like a nice person now.

Disney drops request to have wrongful death lawsuit tossed over Disney+ subscription

Disney is no longer asking a Florida court to dismiss a wrongful death lawsuit on the grounds that the victim’s family had signed up for its streaming service Disney+.

The company filed a notice in Orange County court on Tuesday to withdraw the motion, which had drawn swift backlash when it became public.

Very bad PR, at a time disney can’t afford the bad PR.

“At Disney, we strive to put humanity above all other considerations,” (Josh D’Amaro, chairperson of Disney’s theme park division) said in the Monday night statement. “With such unique circumstances as the ones in this case, we believe this situation warrants a sensitive approach to expedite a resolution for the family who have experienced such a painful loss.”

Too little, too late.

In a response filed this month, they (people suing) argued that it was “absurd” to believe that the more than 150 million subscribers to Disney+ have waived all rights to sue the company and its affiliates in perpetuity because of language “buried” in the fine print.

Such language in the fine-print, the courts should rule as illegal and not binding.

Disney, in a follow-up statement to The Associated Press last week, said that it was merely defending itself against Piccolo’s attempt to include the company in his lawsuit against Raglan Road, the Irish pub in Disney Springs where the family dined.

Spokespersons for the restaurant didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment Tuesday. Disney Springs is owned by Disney, which leases some of the spaces in the outdoor dining, shopping and entertainment complex to other companies.

So why is Disney included in the lawsuit?

Piccolo’s lawsuit claims the family had decided to eat at Raglan Road in October because it was billed on Disney’s website as having “allergen free food.”

Piccolo’s wife, Dr. Kanokporn Tangsuan, a physician with NYU Langone’s office in Carle Place, New York, had a severe allergy to nuts and dairy products, and the waiter had assured them her food was prepared without allergens, the lawsuit states.

Disney officially endorsed it as “allergen free food”.  The Waiter assured the couple the food was “allergen free food”.  Both were FALSE and resulted in…

But less than an hour after finishing their dinner, Tangsuan had difficulty breathing, collapsed and died at a hospital, despite self-administering an EpiPen, according to the lawsuit.

The medical examiner determined she died as a result of “anaphylaxis due to elevated levels of dairy and nut in her system,” the lawsuit states.

Well, this change in tactics won’t help disney in the PR disaster.

Nothing they can do will bring back the dead, nor make up for the emotional damage that lost and their “you can’t sue us.  we are disney” BS has already made most people’s minds up when it comes to public opinion on this case.

Disgusted when I saw this this morning. When I had gone downstairs to sort out my washing I took a quick glance at the time since dad was watching the opening ceremony. Saw men in skirts and I knew what was going on so I vacated upstairs for two hours. Also, pretty sure that the last I checked pulling a flag upside down is actually OFFENSIVE so why is no-one being called out over this???

You’re the woke right cancel culture. You know, they guy you have pretended to hate this whole time. With a slice of hypocrisy and anger.

Oh these fools really don’t get it. There is no hypocrisy here. But there is anger. And it ain’t no slice. I despise these assholes with a passion.

You don’t know what anger is until Caring Liberals decide to destroy your life for crimes that exist in their fevered imagination, to the point they they run organized slander campaigns against you so vile that it puts the lives of your children in danger. Gleefully they rooted for psychos to try and kill me, because I hurt their feelings once over a meaningless award.

For the last ten years at every turn, petty fucks tried to destroy my livelihood. For ten years they continued to spread nasty shit that they knew to be false, but they did it anyway, just out of spite because I believe wrong.

My continued success galled them. That’s not how this is supposed to work. I was supposed to roll over and cower and beg forgiveness for things I never did. But I refused.

Despite that, there is no doubt their cancel campaign has been effective in that it has cost me millions of dollars. There’s nothing quite like having thousands of total strangers reflexively hate you because everything they’ve ever been told about you is a lie. Super fun.

But my continued success pisses these assholes off, so it’s totally worth it.

For over ten years I tried to warn the few remaining honest people on the left where their reckless destruction of the social contract was going to lead us. Now, I simply no longer give a fuck if their hubris destroys them. I will toast marshmallows over your cremation fire.

I’m no hypocrite. Oh no. I’m far, far past that. I actively root for your utter destruction. I’ve moved into a zen state of watching you honorless dogs pave the road to hell. And I will sit back and gloat as you burn.

As a commentator stated: The USA is a nation too politically divided to last.  A peaceful balkanization is what I see is in the near future for the USA, but it will only be a peaceful breakup if and only if the extremely toxic far alt-left lunatic allows it to be peaceful.  I am sure at this stage the left would rather have a full blown civil war 2.0 and burn everything to the ground than give up power.

And if/when that happens, with the USA in disarray and in no position to pressure other governments, expect major and many conflicts open the world over.

Last thing, but Sunny Hostin’s ancestors were actual slave-owners. Unlike others, it’s clear from her present life that she actually benefited from owning slaves, unlike southerners who were slaughtered and robbed, whether they were owners or not. My hunch is that the actual owner class didn’t have to fight and die.

This is one of the things that I HATE about modern film trailers; the horrible music that they always put in them. What happened to putting in a glimpse of the soundtrack??? Besides that, the film looks decent and manly enough…although I guess Pedro forgot what happened the last time he stepped into an arena on ‘Game of Thrones’ lol.
