In reply to: Titans Racist Casting

Titans, Justice League, Batman, and other; Disney, Marvel,DC and all Major film and TV are riddled with Woke politics, gender Politics,  Transsexual desensitization, hypersexualization of children Muslim extremism, American Villainy, American Emperialism, Docialist/ Marxist/Racist/Communist glorifying. If I wasn’t such an addict to anything tv, Film and anime related to DC, Marvel, fantasy,  sci-fi,  then I’d boycott the whole damn thing! All tv and film is now is recruiting and advertising for Communism and the destruction of all things traditional and wholesome!

And before you call me sexist, racist, homophobic, or fascist, you should know… Im a married GAY man who USED to be a Democrat, but after I saw all the underhanded and un-American maneuvering, pandering, and downright illegal and treasonous behavior by Hillary Clinton And the hypocrisy with all the villainizing of Trump  all the way to accusations leading to attempts to Impeach Trump for the very MULTIPLE acts that they themselves have committed. Starting with Obama, then Hillary and then the current administration. HILARY’S Leaked unsecure network emails proving disgusting act of cowardess and leaving an entire American embassy to die (TRUE). Accusation after accusation of TRUMPS failure of irs doc disclosure showing illegal business dealings (FALSE), Trump CORRUPTION (FALSE), Collusion (FALSE), Trump illegally keeping and hiding confidential Whitehouse documents multiple (PURPOSEFULLY-FALSE) Bidens multiple confidential documents stored for a lot longer and were NOT LEGAL to leave the Whitehouse with him while TRUMP as president IS allowed to carry documents outside Whitehouse. Hunter Bidens Collusion and records kept on leaked laptop and shows Pres <b>Bidens involvement!  All Collusion and other illegal acts by Hillsry, and the Biden’s mysteriously dropped in conversation and nothing is happening from it. Completely swept under the rug after demonizing Trump for it and ruining his bid for re-election by not releasing the leaked laptop announcement until AFTER ELECTION.  BY DEFINITION THIS IS ILLEGAL INFLUENCE OF ELECTION.  The list goes on and on and on for the things the Democrat party has gotten busted with their pants down and hand in the cookie jar. Flying illegals to Republican majority population areas to help influence the vote away from rep. </b>

Biden undoing every single enactment of Trump in his first week of occupation. Thereby “REFILLING THE SWAMP” and costing taxpayers trillions. Undoing a price cap mandate on insulin of $35 when he started then reenacting it in his own name with the same limits. And touting himself the first president to do this at the same time slanders Trump as tge president who doesn’t care

Just thought that it is a new tool that artists could use. https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/midjourney There are a lot of How to vidoes and How to instructions here. One thing I like about this site is that some people do still have dreams and stories they want to tell. Maybe aspirations of movies or video games. Maybe one day cutting edge technology can facilitate that for you.

    Samurai Marvel

    Medieval Times Marvel
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQwzMc17vI8

    Wild West Cowboy Marvel

Have you seen the things they have done with Marvel and Star Wars and other franchises?

Midjourney is one of the most popular pieces of AI software that allows users to create beautiful AI-generated artwork by simply entering a text-based prompt that describes the image.

Never thought A.I. would take off so fast. Basically, people text in what they would like to see and the AI generates pictures and art around their ideas. Recently, there was a roundtable and Jed was talking about Phoenicians and that might be a good idea and put in like Phoenicians as and Epic 300 style movie or something like that. If you are a creative person, this AI artwork is just another tool for someone to use to produce their visions and dreams. Like ILM, any storyteller or director has used technology to give the public the movies and shows that we are all familiar with. It seems like a good way to generate concept art, even if you can draw well or are an artist yourself.

    SteamPunk Star Wars

They have some for Marvel characters as Cowboys in the Wild west. There are also ones for Marvel Characters as Samurai. Marvel in the Victorian Era is another idea. A lot of these things have been done in comics, but it’s interesting to see what the AI comes up with.

Found this monologue to be an excellent insight into woke psychology. It’s kind of slow, but I enjoyed the listen. Solid script read. I despise Bill Maher, but narrator goes more into the critics themselves.

“Top Gun Maverick” is the movie to beat this year, and DC’s Black Adam, Marvel’s Black Panther and Disney’s Avatar 2 are the only ones that even has a chance at doing it, and it’s doubtful even that they can.
Because everyone Top Gun Maverick, even the critics – And had Bill Maher up in arms! In a nutshell, his issue was that the very same critics who will always shame any woke and virtue signalling movie for not being woke enough, somehow gave the anti-woke Top Gun Maverick a pass? What gives?
Well, the good Mister Maher certainly missed the boat on this one, and now he does in a sense, knowingly or unwittingly, assist in rewriting history and hiding the backlash that did happen – but it just so happens that might have have some larger implications, as critics have to come to term with wokeness losing hround.
In this editorial, @AndreEinherjar will begin with some past and current examples of the divide between audiences and critics, what the critics actually said about Top Gun Maverick upon release before changing their tune, how this changed tune is the only thing Maher saw, and the larger implications of it.

@Legatus_Legionis: I am right there with you man. Everything after Endgame is crap, except the Sony Marvel stuff (Spider-Man, Venom, etc). It felt good to have Sony’s Spider-Man No Way Home dominate most anything Disney had done with Marvel. It was like a slap in the face to Disney, and I enjoyed that.

      @DragonLady
: Agreed. I personally hate modern trailers. It’s the same “woosh..boom” garbage in everything. That low bass boom sound is in EVERYTHING, I am so sick of it. They take sci-fi or fantasy movies and put hip hop/rap in them WHICH DOES NOT FIT! They did it with the Kong vs Godzilla movie and it was f**king horrible!

      @SuperSoynic_Speed
: When you say “slaps hard” that shows your age right there. Modern hip-hop and rap is utter and complete trash imo. Flat out, I can’t stand it, at all. Most popular music now days is a computer program spitting out the same regurgitated crap over and over again calling it music. I am a musician who listens to a vast variety of music. I’ve taught guitar and drums. But imo this stuff young people are being fed by record companies now days is low IQ, no talent, garbage. You take 20 of the most popular songs right now, and most of them have the same 3 chords in them. And how many of them have the word “tonight” in them? Hmm? Ya. However, I am not here to tell you what to like or dislike either. More power to ya man. Also, mentioning crap like Thor Love and Thunder doesn’t do anything positive to your mention of Guns N Roses. It’s like saying they put Megadeth in the new Little Mermaid movie, absolutely nothing positive there because the movie is crap. When they do movie or tv shows trailers they need to put music in it that fits. For example, as I mentioned above, Rap and hip hop doesn’t belong in a Godzilla vs Kong trailer, it does NOT fit the feeling, atmosphere, or context of the movie, at all.

This has derailed from the subject of the OP so I’ll end this part of the conversation here to get it back on track.

@DarthVengeant Out of all of them, Andor might be good. I reserve commentary, but fans are fans and can like anything they want, for whatever reason. I saw your comments on Cobra Kai and I am spellbound how good that show is, with the writing and the characters. The fight in Terry Silver’s house with the epic music, and the feeling that all was lost was good. I also liked Daniel’s daughter in the pod scene, and the scene with John Kreese, when he has a breakthrough in prison. Those cutaway shots to other people in their lives was excellent. Cobra Kai is like the anti-Disney in that it is done with almost no budget, whereas Disney really hits you with the Industrial Light and Magic.

No matter how bad things are, there are some good shows out there, but you have to know what you like and might have to dig. I mainly agree with the critics, but at least Star Wars seems to be trying, whereas Marvel looks like they have abandoned trying to be serious in any way, although they did have a Secret Invasion trailer and one for Werewolf By Night. They seem to be really reaching and grasping at the fringes for content.

Good point about political intrigue. At the time, I did not like the prequels, but the story of the takeover of the Senate from within was actually quite good, looking back. It stuck with me, that story. I think the obsession with Trump is a distraction from the real Sith or HYDRA in our governments in the west and what they are calling The GREAT Reset, even though it is just austerity.

Marvel: We’re not going to objectify women in our films and TV series anymore.

Also Marvel: We’re going to have She-Hulk twerking and shaking her bootie!

      Me: I’m soooo confused…

But it’s fine to objectify men because no-one complains about it! Look at the whole marketing surrounding ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ with THAT scene! Oh and poor Cap’s butt on She-Hulk’s lock screen as well.

Court Costs (Solo Avengers #14, 1989)

Lawyer Jennifer gets the highlight as she appears before the court to argue against the Mutant Registration Act. Out of all the storylines, this one is the likeliest to be adapted for the MCU, at least to some degree. Mutants have only just been introduced to the MCU in Ms. Marvel, so the timing would be almost perfect.

Going to Bat for Cap here. Not to undermine any of the Clark love, because all of that is true. Captain America has accomplishments but they can mostly be attributed to “Avengers” wins than individual like Superman. Korvac, Ultron, Thane Ector, Thanos a few times, Grim Reaper ect.  What Cap brings to the fold is his symbolism and leadership. Just showing up seems to gives Cap’s team confidence that they can win. Plus, before Marvel made him a modern day communist, he actually stood up for truth and justice, going so far as to say no to the government several times when they crossed the line, changing into Nomad, turning in his shield and going as US Agent, and then leading the team in Civil War.

I agree with the others that Superman is a far bigger IP and well known, and basically started the superhero genre, so his accomplishments are unmatched however, if  I crash landed on a island I’d rather have a long box of Cap’s comics than Superman’s to keep me company.

Ezra Miller’s Reaction To WB Considering Cancelling The Flash Revealed

Ezra Miller has discussed the future of The Flash with WB executives in an attempt to keep the movie on track and a new report revealed his reaction to the studio considering canceling the film. The Flash is one of the upcoming DC Extended Universe projects slated for 2023, following up on the character introduced briefly in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before becoming a main star in 2017’s Justice League.

Guess without the exposure this film could give Miller (and the payday), his luck at continuing his groomerism would be much limited.

Especially once Miller heard they cancelled Batgirl and I can see he feared they would do the same with his film.

The future of The Flash has been seemingly in jeopardy for some time, as Miller’s off-set behavior has been drawing lots of negative attention to the actor. After being arrested twice, once for harassment and once for assault in Hawaii this April, they were charged with felony burglary in Vermont earlier this month.

Miller is ASKING to be cancelled.

Per THR, this week Miller and their agent Scott Metzger had a meeting on the Warner Bros. lot with film chairs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy to discuss the future of The Flash. While the string of bad headlines dogging them hadn’t bothered the actor, the idea that The Flash might be canceled provided them the kick they needed to reconsider their behavior and make an apology.

Which might be too little too late for alot of fans.

However, it will remain to be seen if Miller truly keeps their image clean and seeks the treatment they have promised. If they can maintain a consistent course until next summer, however, it seems entirely possible that DCEU fans will finally be able to see The Flash.

But do they want to in the numbers the studio is expected/needed to consider this film a success.

However, if everything backslides and The Flash is actually canceled…

Will come as no surprise to some, and Miller’s days as a hollywood actor is at an end.

They’ll need a string of hits released in a regular pattern in order to re-right themselves and even begin to think about properly competing with the continued market domination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Considering how the meh-she-ugh has been doing lately, DC needs great quality, entertaining films right NOW.  The time is NOW for DC and they can’t afford to release garbage.

How long did it take to bring Superman back to the big screen after the disaster that was Superman IV?  Almost two decades!

It took almost a decade after Batman & Robin before they could get the rebooted Batman Begins.

DC can’t afford to wait another decade if anything they put out now is GARBAGE/ruins the brand for today’s purchasing consumers.

Sadly, Ezra and Amber (Aquaman film) are both huge NEGATIVES for the studio.

Wokism is a huge NEGATIVE to their bottom line.

As much of a fan of the Comic Book Flash I am (and the live action version with John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen, police forensic scientist, and the Flash) I hate Ezra’s version, and the need for a Wally West Flash is growing bigger every day.

I can easily see the Wally West Flash as being the future of the Flash movie franchise.

Matt Walsh makes a video on the topic. It was so rushed. A couple drops of blood was all it took. I was ok with the girly scenes where the girls help her in the bathroom and then at the end, when her colleague told her to be sure to save the shoes. The shoe thing was the only time I chuckled a little bit. Other fans have mentioned it already, but this show, even with the bad CGI, had vast potential. They just don’t have it, but if this show took The Boys route, and actually mocked and was parody of all those chick shows, it would be awesome. As of now, this one goes up there with Loki and Ms. Marvel in terms of how fast I dump it. It’s cringe. Also, what is weird is that Wonder Woman with Linda Carter was just a little bit before my time and I watch clips of it on youtube, and it’s so bad that it’s actually good. The effects and acting is corny, but it actually entertains. That is something to think about, that today’s shows cannot even beat those of the 70s? They should have it down to a formula of what works after all this time. Marvel used to be so good. One generation later, it looks pretty bad.

Yeah, it is Netflix. The network that put out the butchered Sandman and the woke Sabrina The Teenage Witch. But, I watch a lot of good stuff on Netflix. I am always watching something on there. A lot of good Korean and Japanese shows/movies on there. This is also produced by Tim Burton.

I also, like others have said, grew up watching Addams Family and Munsters. It’s probably part of why I like goth women. My house is a goth/metal/anime haven of decor. My aesthetic has always been dark. I saw Darth  Vader on the screen in 1977 when I was 4 and wanted to be him. Ya, I like the dark stuff and Wednesday is a waifu. So, I really hope this is good. I need some good dark humor, because I am fed up with the crap low IQ humor Disney/Marvel and others are feeding the market.

As Legatus_Legionis has said, it’s not the first time it’s happened. Marvel did Fantastic 4, Captain America and X-Men films in the 90’s and they were never released. I actually thought the 90’s Captain America film wasn’t too bad even though I hated how they did the Red Skull.  Although I admit to liking the soundtrack for it. At least Banshee had a Irish accent on that version of X-Men compared to Banshee on ‘First Class’ (I did enjoy ‘First Class’ but I didn’t like the fact that he didn’t have his trademarked Irish accent on that film btw). I can’t comment on the F4 film from the 90’s as I’ve not seen it.

          https://variety.com/2022/film/news/batgirl-not-released-warner-bros-hbo-max-1235331897/

“Batgirl,” the feature film adaptation of the DC Comics character, has been killed at Warner Bros., Variety has confirmed. It will not premiere on any platform at the studio — neither theatrically nor on HBO Max.

The production — starring Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) and directed by “Bad Boys for Life” and “Ms. Marvel” filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah — was greenlit in 2021 as part of a company-wide effort at Warner Bros. to create feature films specifically for HBO Max. But the new corporate regime at Warner Bros. Discovery has pivoted the company’s priorities back to theatrical features, leaving “Batgirl” without a proper home.

Batman & Robin got a theatrical release.  Catwoman got a theatrical release.  Zack Snyder’s Justice League even got a theatrical release.  How does a finished product just get scrapped?

Thread title left open as even more cancellations are expected this week.
