Rings Of Power Season 2 Is Actually Good, But Why?
I watched a few reviews from different people & I am starting to really believe there is a thing called Overly negative reviews. Rings Of Power Season 1 was not great at all. Watching a single episode was a drudge, like going in to work. I gave it a bad review. I was ready for the same experience with Rings Of Power Season 2…but that never happened in the 1st 2 episodes.
This is all I watched so far & this is what the video is about. I strongly believe the reason why the 1st season failed was because each episode was written by a community of writers. Only 2 episodes of Rings Of Power Season 1 were written by 1 writer, the rest had 2 to even 4 writers working on it & as a result, we got a terrible show that was hard to point the finger at WHO caused it to be so bad.
Now looking at Rings Of Power Season 2, all but 2 episodes were written by 1 person & the 2 that weren’t were by only 2 writers. I honestly don’t think a show needs more than 1 or 2 writers but whatever. So the episodes are less scatterbrained, which makes them easier to watch. The 2nd thing is that in at least the 1st 2 episodes of Rings Of Power Season 2, the arrogance is gone. Even Galadriel is tamed & can be easier to watch. She is not the Girl B*tch Boss she was in the 1st season of Rings Of Power. That goes a long way as well. Those 2 things combined in my opinion made the show miles better & easier to watch, so that is how I am reviewing this episode.

Will Rings Of Power Season 2 betray that, maybe but until then, I will always be fair & praise/trash accordingly. 2 things of note, I do think the actor they chose for Sauron is an excellent fit, he has more range than I expected. Adar, the actor from Rings Of Power Season 1 has been replaced with a less imposing actor that I don’t think has the chops or presence of the original Adar. Lastly…should we expect an actual Lord Of The Rings show true to Tolkein? NO. I am Ok with adding their own spin to things, as long as it is in the spirit of the lore. But changing things that rework how some things were designed, not so much. I am referring to The Orcs. We’ll get there when we get to that episode.
I wish people would be more honest in their reviews instead of trying to twist every scene to fit your negative narrative for the negative fanbase/following you amassed. There is good in everything, just like there is bad in everything we consume.
    Thank you for watching.

Navigate treacherous hallways and thorny obstacles in geometry dash waves by leaping, gliding, and testing your skills. It could be challenging to navigate around obstructions if spike hedges emerge quickly. You can perform a quick jump by touching or holding the screen quickly.

This looks good. I had it on mute, so guess they chose the music wrong, which made it cringe. I like the overall look of it. Shows like this, like Shogun, like House of The Dragon, are mastering mixing those grand shots of what the landscape and architecture looks like, mixed with scenes of people, that are probably shot just in a room somewhere. What bothers me a bit is that shows like these are better than what we tent to Expect from Epic Fantasy such as: Willow, Wheel of Time, Acolyte, Rings of Power, etc. It’s an odd experience to compare and contrast these things. Anyway, I like that stuff out of Rome. There was a good comic called Alix Senator that I liked, that would make a good Rome show like this.

Ai is doing amazing things, from what I have seen. They are now able to make the generated images movie slightly. I enjoy watch Ai renderings on YouTube and they are only getting better and it is happening very fast. I think Ai will pass Hollywood in about 5 years, from what I have seen. Hollywood is only harming itself by not casting better looking people.

Tuna actually showed me an Ai for creating music and I have not been able to stop messing with it, but I am very slow. I tried to write a song about the “M-She-U,” but I do not think it understood me. I wanted it to be called “M-She-U” but it wrote one called “Marvel Madness.”

    [Verse]
    Marvel’s got a plan
Got a chick in every scene
    Used to be our heroes
Now it’s like a movie meme

    [Verse 2]
    Fans are getting toxic
    Shouting on the screens
    Superpowers fading
    Lost behind the furious screams

    [Chorus]
    What happened to the magic?
    Why’s it feeling so strange?
    Used to be adventures
Now it’s just a gender change

    [Verse 3]
    Storylines feel lazy
    Filling scenes with empty talk
    We miss the old excitement
That made us want to walk the walk

    [Bridge]
    Can it be salvaged
Can we find the spark again
    Fandoms in a breakdown
In the chaos can we win

    [Chorus]
    What happened to the magic?
    Why’s it feeling so strange?
    Used to be adventures
Now it’s just a gender change

Jermy said it best when he said he realized at one point that Kathleen and Filoni will never listen to feedback, and that things will never change, never improve and never get better. Everything about this show sucks. The casting is bad. With Wicked coming up, I guess this is the year where every role is going to be occupied with some Queen Latifah type figure.

This show really reflects the political situation in our country by defying what the people and the fans want, and instead, forcing some cripple groups on the masses and spending tons of money while doing it. Nobody wants this. Nobody voted for this. One thing that impresses me though is that this is worse than Willow, worse than Rings of Power, and worse than Wheel of Time. The only show worse than Acolyte is Doctor Who.

They were going to do this with Blade, too. Fill Blade with a bunch of girls to humiliate him. I don’t know why I even bother because no one listens to us anyway, but if you want so badly to cast a black woman as a Jedi or a Blade’s daughter, you someone like this below, but we know who they use instead probably is better on the casting couch or somehow adopted by some privileged family already.

U might wanna mute this pedantic, verbose narrator in the next video. The only reason I post these is to show just how little to no effort went into casting for Jedi or Blade’s daughter. Instead, they get some BLM type.

Ha, fair enough, and I agree to a large degree, she has been weaponized. She’s a terrible influence on society, but that’s partly why I chose her as an example. That even with all the shit she injects into our culture, she DOES provide some positive value, she does value her fans, she does give them a place where they feel they belong, and she takes that seriously, which is what makes her so powerful of an influencer, same with Rippa.

This cult appeal can be positive, or it can be negative like anything else. We used to love Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and our Countries of birth, quality writing, hard work and meritocracy just as much before all the decay set in.

Point is, these guys have kinda lost their mission statement to be the leaders fighting the wokeness. And if that’s a conscious decision that’s fine, they’re free to cater to whatever audience or crowd they wish.

But shitting on “incels” and nerds on the internet comes off as toxic if those were the people you vouched for and cultivated over the years and pretended to speak for. It ends up making the whole show look like hollow grifting and exploitation while making clowns of the viewers.

Say what you want about Rippa fans or “Swifties’ they are part of a close knit community that has one another’s backs, there is a dynamic of support that they can rely on. It’s frankly just sad when the people pocketing the money secretly loath the audience and openly mock them to their face.

The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power – Official Teaser Trailer | Prime Video
    Prime Video

Darkness will bind them. The Rings Of Power returns August 29 on Prime Video.

Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season 1’s epic scope and ambition, Season 2 of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.

More like a blog post, I know. I would be interested in your opinion and thoughts on this.

When you walk into a bookstore, the books are not simply organised alphabetically, but by genre. Readers have preferences and expectations when it comes to stories or entertainment media. People are free to decide whether they want to read a thriller or a romance.

Over the centuries, archetypal narrative styles have been established that have proven to be particularly successful. Although these are not set in stone, they provide a good starting point for authors to follow an existing structure. When someone chooses a horror novel, they expect suspense, fear and horror. They don’t expect a bank robbery that has been carefully planned for half the book’s content. In a Heroes Journey, readers don’t expect the teasing wordiness used in romantic novels.

Every archetypal narrative has a certain division of important information about characters, setting and events. For a plot to work, every piece of information must be handpicked according to the genre. Too much relationship drama in a thriller? Too little swordplay in a medieval epic? The immersion is gone. The percentage split between action, emotion, dialogue, eroticism, etc. is a fine line that represents the preference of both authors and their readers within a genre.

One of the most important points when writing (consuming entertainment media) is not to waste the readers’ (consumers’) time with superfluous information. Character traits such as disabilities, sexual orientation, past events must serve a plot point, otherwise they are just empty words or fillers. The classic infodump. Readers perceive this unconsciously. If the main investigator of a crime novel has lost a leg due to a past accident, this must lead to problems in the plot that he has to solve. The investigator follows up a clue on his own in a remote wooded area and startles someone hiding in a bush. The suspect flees. He has to go after him. How does he solve the problem? Another aspect could be that his limitation leads to social problems or unacceptance that he has to deal with during his investigation. Creating conflict in a story in order to resolve it through the actions of the characters is one of the main reasons for an exciting, readable story. Limitations make a character human and identifiable, but have a duty to move the plot forward.

Just as information must have an impact on the plot, subplots must be integrated into the main plot at some point in the story. A side story that ends abruptly and has no connection to the main story leaves a feeling of wasted time. Readers have invested their time to learn more about a character. In a well-written story, they are rewarded by seeing that this knowledge has real value in the plot and is utilised. Each character is always the main character of their own story. And yet there is a main plot that must be linked to it. The finely tuned content of a story, the setting, the narrative style and many other aspects attract a certain group of interested consumers. If their expectations are met or exceeded, they become fans of a series or the author. Building a fanbase is easier said than done. It requires technical expertise in constructing a story and a lot of time revising and fine-tuning.

The author now has the task of delivering what their established fan base expects. If they fail to fulfil expectations, they risk losing fans. On the other hand, authors themselves want to grow in their creative process and explore new things. The author wants to take the life of a main character in a series in order to experience the course of the plot as a reaction to this drastic decision. From the point of view of artistic freedom, there is nothing wrong with this, but what do the fans say? In these moments, sensitivity is required. Because the author is playing with the trust placed in him by the readers. Such an immense decision must reward the readers in a different way. Developing the author’s creativity in such a drastic way is only possible if he is a master of his craft. In creative pursuits, it is important to play by the established rules until you understand so many nuances that rules can be broken for the better. This can result in wonderful new works. Such people are celebrated as virtuosos. However, if someone is not a master of their craft and breaks the rules anyway, incoherent works are created. These people are labelled incompetent because they are wasting people’s time. Nobody wants to be labelled incompetent for their efforts, which is something that more and more series and games are struggling with these days.

There seems to have been an agreement in the consumer world about the culprit. The woke culture. While it has many different aspects, some of them are noticeably finding their way into the mainstream media. One of the cornerstones is to provide a safe space for marginalised groups from different walks of life. This safespace also includes people with characteristics that make it difficult to live in today’s society due to anxiety disorders, borderline, depression or sexual orientation. Safespaces, which are known from therapies, serve to exclude certain triggers, for example in the case of experienced traumas, as far as possible so that methods can be developed to lead a normal life outside the safespace. The aim is therefore to leave this safespace again. In the woke culture, people within these self-created safespaces are given special attention, which seems positive at first glance. The question now is, when will they leave it again? Another question could be: why would they want to leave it again? People who live in an environment where others pay very close attention to their choice of words and behaviour so as not to set off triggers develop a tendency towards narcissism outside of a professional therapeutic setting. The goal is no longer to leave the safespace, but to expand it. Instead of promoting the idea of diversity (marginalised groups) to naturally integrate into other groups, the demand is made that other groups in society accept and apply the established safespaces. There is no need to discuss the fact that any kind of demand that disrupts the integrity of a group will be met with resistance. So what does this mean for series and games that make this kind of demand? At this point, a parasitic behaviour can be observed in which existing and successful IP are used as hosts to force an expansion of safespaces. The Witcher series, Rings of Power, …
Based on the above text, here are a few questions that need to be answered when using established source material from series or games:

    •  Do changes in characters (skin colour, etc.) have any relevance in the plot?
    • Is new information (mention of sexual orientation, etc.) relevant to the plot?
    • Do new side stories (homosexual couple, etc.) flow meaningfully into the main plot?
    • Are the expectations of existing fans met?

If even one of the questions is answered with ‘no’, the creators are already taking a risk of producing an incoherent work and outing themselves as incompetent because they are wasting consumers’ time.

People judge themselves by their intentions, but others by their actions.

Instead of labelling the creators of incoherent works as incompetent, descriptions such as ‘courageous’ are used in the inner circles of the woke. Their intention is a good one. Namely, the inclusion of marginalised groups in successful franchises. What their actions have ultimately produced is therefore less relevant. At this point, consumers are not looking at their laudable intention, but the result of the inconsistent string of storylines. The situation now arises where viewers intuitively reject the incoherent works, a group of like-minded woke people encourage the incompetent and the incompetent see themselves confirmed in their actions, which further promotes the narcissism described above. Instead of drawing conclusions from the decisions made and learning from them, methods are used to maintain the safespaces. Gaslighting, concealment of facts, threats, online harassment are just some of the actions.

The debates that erupt on social media as a result are anything but constructive. Part of the reason for this is the internet itself. Because it is particularly good at two things.

    • Grouping people with the same ideas together
    • Presenting content that makes you particularly angry

The basic principle is to bind consumers to their devices for as long as possible. As long as a person is consuming media, someone in the world is making money from it. The interest in binding people to their devices for a particularly long time is therefore very high. This can be achieved by exposing people to content that provokes some kind of action. Either to support like-minded people or to fight against an enemy. Hate is one of the best bonding agents. When someone deeply hates another person, it stays with them all day in their mind. If people with the same mindset come together and expose themselves to content that makes them particularly angry as a collective, what effect does this have within the group? Radicalisation.

Although radicalisation is a hard word, the way it works is clear. This applies not only to woke groups, but also to any other. Over time, any group that exists long enough will develop its share of extremists. It is the job of any group to keep order internally. At the end of the day, in a society that is characterised and sustained by a wide variety of groups, people have to ensure that their own group participates in life together with others. One approach would be to exclude these extremists from their own circles. Of course, new, smaller groups will then form, consisting only of these extremists. It is then the task of the authorities to keep an eye on them in order to prevent worse things from happening. In the case of the woke culture, however, this is a problem of its own. Because what happens when these extremists are inside a safespace? Exclusion from the safespace would set a precedent that ensures that anyone who steps out of line can simply be excluded. This would render a safespace as such obsolete and destroy one of its cornerstones.

Another aspect of the woke culture is the special emphasis placed on sexuality as a feature of identity. People are complex beings. Sexuality is just one of many characteristics. In terms of entertainment media, the romance genre in particular lends itself to exploring sexuality as a primary plot point in a story. People who go into a bookshop and want exactly that are looking for the romance category, they don’t go to the sci-fi thriller shelf. Why is that? The expectation of the plot of a romantic comedy is different compared to a sci-fi thriller. So if the aspect of sexuality as a character’s identity is particularly important to the plot, then the correct choice and marketing of genre is essential. If an epic adventure is marketed and fifty per cent of the content deals with the discovery of the protagonist’s sexuality, then this causes confusion and resentment. After all, as mentioned at the beginning, archetypal storytelling has become established. In contrast, when a love story is marketed and fifty per cent of the content is about the slaughter of orc warriors, it also creates a bad atmosphere. The principle of invasive expansion of the safespace of woke extremists also applies here. It is not the violation of the expected content according to the established genre that leads to controversy, but the supposed unacceptance of sexual diversity. Viewers judge the actions of the creators and see a discrepancy between marketing and expected content. Their intention is to experience meaningfully coherent stories. Woke people judge their intention as noble and see the actions of the viewers, i.e. the unacceptance, as a rejection of diversity.

Do  Barbara Lerner Spectre and other NGOs target western nations for replacement and dilution because they are white or Christian? Are gentiles targeted in industry or other careers for Cancel Culture because they are not in some kind of fraternal organization? What is the motivation for targeting Elon Musk in media?  Why is posting news clips with names and faces called “antisemitic” when it just is what it is? It’s objective. It’s factual. Can people understand that that accusation of “antisemitism” always comes from the ones in authority with powerful banking and media positions? They are the ones with the power to oppress and not any other people. Isn’t anti-gentilism the real issue here?

Regarding the white or straight comment, what is up with Dr. Rachel Levine as Assistant Secretary for Health? Is it healthy to see people dropping dead of heart attacks, strokes and cancers at higher and higher rates? Wouldn’t this be considered failure for any other person? You could say the very same about Alejandro Mayorkas,   Secretary of Homeland Security. The USA is being flooded with refugees and he is failing completely.  E. Michael Jones said the other day that people like Blinken or Mayorkas bring up the Holocaust whenever they are asked about there dereliction of duty on job performance, so in those cases, the claim of “antisemitism” is a cloak or shield and completely off-topic with the points raised in hearings.

Who on this site thinks that this promoted operation is healthy? Does it look healthy?

    geektrannyoperation

One other thing is that there are different opinions on what is considered fighting. Some think talking online is fighting. Some think tweets is fighting. Some thinkboxing or MMA is fighting, like Mike Tyson, for example. Others I have spoken to say that real fighting does not start until 20mm cannons come out, and at that point, I kind of exit the room.

It’s been obnoxious for a long time now that even the most basic questions cannot be asked without being accused of fighting or antisemitism. To accuse any American or antisemitism is ridiculous and comical. We grew up on TV entertainment and media. Personally, my tastes were Benny Goodman, Donald Fagen and Billy Joel. All jewish. Don’t know what it is like for others, but would think the rank and file would obviously say that we’ve seen and heard the world through a certain filter for the entirety of life.  When simple worldview changes lead to different opinions and that is immediately and hysterically decried as “antisemitism” by the most shrill voices like Levin and Shapiro, it  provokes laughter at the realization of the control and fear that westerners live under.

You’re talking about the best fantasy ever written and the best trilogies ever made. Nothing quite like it. I hope the Geeks help you out. I have no suggestions, but I did like The Forgotten Warrior Series by Larry Correia, staring with Son Of The Black Sword. Has familiar tropes, but it’s pretty good. Geeks might suggest One Piece?

Probably shouldn’t respond because the people on this site are FAR more well read than myself.

I feel your pain and share it. Someone posted a meme last week of Matt Murdock sitting with Stick in the park, so I went back and watched all 3 seasons of Netflix Daredevil. Felt nothing but pain and rage at how they destroyed that show and especially, the Kingpin character. That show was on Reacher level. It pissed me off even more. We can never let up on them. They did the same thing with Rings of Power, Willow, Wheel of Time, all ruined.

Americans should be encouraged to vocalize their opinions much more and the reason is that Americans cannot go to any political function without the speakers kissing the tuckus of Israel. Americans show up for their rights and freedoms and immediately, the politician brings on Israel and prioritizes Israel.

Americans have no rights nor freedoms as it relates to Israel.  It’s a different country far away and what it does or does not do in no way affects you directly. Your over fascination with it is misguided and takes away focus from the actual villains directly harming you in your own country.  The bad people running much of this country absolutely want you to worry about other things that are not them.  You are not rebelling against the powers that be, you are doing EXACTLY as they wish you to.

The US government is far more pro-division than it is pro-Israel.  I personally suspect , at this point, the US is only behind Israel because the warmongers make a good profit on a regular basis.

Your level of concern for shenanigans is on point.  However the places where you are looking for shenanigans is way off.

Even if Israel was actually committing genocide (it’s not) it’s still none of our business.  The US can be a stabilizing force in the world without trying to directly control it and police it.  That has to stop.

      In reply to: Proverbs 10

31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.

32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse.

We in the US know how foul our political process is, yet we still continue to play by its rules.

We know our politics is more a popularity contest than it is a sober-minded attempt to put righteous and competent people into positions they can do good. We know our politicians are liars, we know their main concern is their own power and benefits, we know they see us mostly as suckers to be exploited. Knowing this, should we be surprised when we continually have the same problems and the same issues cycle after cycle, and year after year?

We can blame politicians, and they certainly have their share of the blame, but politicians are merely the fruit of the seeds that we the voters have sown. We are the ones who have chosen style or substance. We are the ones who election after election put the same kinds of people back into offices, knowing they will only make matters worse and worse.

Where is wisdom in all of our politics?

Where is anyone who is truly wise is all our posing and posturing?

Can a people who are essentially godless understand that “The fear of the Lord of the beginning of wisdom”?

Is there any hope that we voters would vote for a man who would speak wisdom to us, whose words may be hard and even harsh but are still true? Or will we continue to make liars and panderers our leaders?

Well ultimately all plans of evil will fail as eventually the Lord returns.

But we should understand this is a time which we cannot discern until the very end is near.  Sure, we can guess and say we are in the last days but we really don’t know because we aren’t supposed to.

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father.” –Matthew 24:36

Matthew 24 lays it out from the mouth of Jesus what it will look like and for me there are some indications of time frame.

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. “

In my mind this indicates a world that is globally connected.  Otherwise how could all nations act in unison as they do now where oligarchs pull the strings of “leaders” the world over.  This is why many of the societal cancers are all over the west in the same way at the same time.  It is not organic and it is not an accident.

Obviously God decides when it’s over.  But I think he has given humans the power of choice (collectively) as to when that is.

This is why I have hope.  If we can make society better, if we can melt the hard hearts and change selfishness for actual caring we can stave off the end I do believe.  I tend to think this happened during WW2.  But you have to keep in mind the world altering events required for that to be the case.

Many people think that this slide into evil is just how it goes.  They think it is inevitable and trying to resist it is useless.  I am certain Satan would want people to believe just that.

The west and other parts of the world has slid into rampant sin and selfishness.  But I don’t think this was organic.  Maybe it started that way but it’s been heavily encouraged, pushed and propagandized.  And just as it took decades to push us where we are, so would a societal antidote to that.  And if evil is willing to be that determined and steadfast then good should be as well.  To give up and submit is to allow evil to win which must have some sin attached to it.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. –2 Timothy 3
