The Dragon Prince “Moonlight” Clip Explains Rayla’s Absence

Today brought yet another Dragon Prince: Mystery of Aaravos clip. These are really beginning to pile up, not that I’m complaining. This clip, entitled “Moonlight,” FINALLY finds half-brothers King Ezran and High Mage Prince Callum reunited. They discuss Callum’s mixed feelings on his birthday due to Rayla’s absence. This isn’t at all what I expected. It makes sense; such a huge time jump would entail some surprising changes, and they’ve been avoiding showing or mentioning Rayla in the clips released so far. Based on the exchange the brothers share here, I assume Rayla still cares for Callum and left for another unknown reason. I actually thought their relationship was rushed despite there already being three seasons; it felt like they got together out of nowhere with little to no buildup. That being said, I love the show and can’t wait to see what’s up.
