The Flash Production Delayed, Episode Titles Announced

The Flash is slowing down for safety. During the filming of its upcoming seventh season, the CW superhero show had to stop production when a crew member was diagnosed with COVID-19. There’s no word on who the infected person is, but they are asymptomatic, and the studio is contemplating resuming without the quarantined employee should it prove possible. Elsewhere, the titles of the first five episodes of season seven have been revealed. In order, they are: “All’s Well That Ends Wells,” “The Speed of Thought,” “Mother,” “Central City Strong,” and “Fear Me.” Most of “All’s Well That Ends Wells” was filmed before they had to cease production due to the COVID outbreak, and at least the next two or three were going to be the final entries in the sixth season.

In the grand scheme, this delay probably isn’t going to be a huge deal, but it’s sort of kicking The Flash while it’s down. They’re already behind, the new season is coming four months later than it was intended to come, and the previous season ended abruptly out of necessity. The last thing they want is to have to stop catching up at this stage of production. I don’t blame them for trying to find a way to keep going while this crew member is indisposed (thankfully, the fellow or lady is asymptomatic, so they shouldn’t have too tough a time of their illness), though it makes you wonder who on the set was diagnosed. If they have to struggle to shoot around them, it could be someone fairly important; is it one of the actors, or maybe a director? They probably wouldn’t have to think their way around a missing gaffer. Regardless, we wish the infected a speedy recovery. The Flash episode titles are interesting, particularly “All’s Well That Ends Wells.” I assume this one will get into Nash Wells’ visions of some of his doppelgangers – people who should all be dead in the aftermath of “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” YouTuber Pagey suggested on Twitter that “Mother” is what was supposed to be last season’s finale, and if that’s the case, the title “Central City Strong” indicates a rebuilding after some cataclysmic event, which means season six was gearing up for a big finish. Last season was a very mixed bag, but it’s still a shame it couldn’t congeal the way in which it was intended. Hopefully, the coming season is even stronger for the delay.

What do you think of the episode titles? Are you looking forward to seeing The Flash return? Are they going to be obnoxious and have everyone wear a surgical mask (except the villains)? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to Geeks + Gamers for more TV news!
