The Flash Solo Film Reportedly Shooting in February 2019

I don’t know about the rest of you, but as soon as Ezra Miller was cast as Barry Allen/the Flash, I wanted his solo film right away. Miller is an insanely talented actor; I especially adored his work in the criminally underseen The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Since then, we’ve lost several directors/writers, and the Scarlet Speedster’s film has been pushed back repeatedly. Now, we may have finally nailed down a principal photography window for the Flash solo film, and its sooner than you think.

Yes, you read that title right; The Flash could start filming as early as February. Bear in mind that this is not confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt. All I have to say is: FINALLY! I’m so excited to see a big budget adaptation of the Flash. It’s reported as well that it might not be a Flashpoint film anymore, which makes me happy, as that means they don’t seem to be trying to reboot the universe. This also lines up with the fact that the directors, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, were hoping for a 2020 release for the Flash solo film.

Ezra Miller, Flash solo film, Barry Allen

I’m crossing my fingers and toes that this report is true. I loved Ezra’s version of Barry Allen in last year’s Justice League and am eager to see where he takes the character on his own. There are so many possibilities to explore in a Flash solo film; we could eventually see characters like Jay Garrick, and they could delve into the Speed Force and what it really is. And the Flash has a good crop of villains. Reverse Flash is an obvious one, but I’d actually rather he take on the Rogues; seeing a big screen interpretation of that villain group would be AWESOME, and they could set up a strong team to challenge the Scarlet Speedster.

Are you excited by this report? Let me know in the comments below! Stay nerdy everyone!
