Tiger King 2 Trailer Hopes the Craze Hasn’t Ended

Just in time for those still deciding on a last-minute Halloween costume, Netflix has released a trailer for Tiger King 2. A sequel – as opposed to a second season – to last year’s surprise hit that took the country by storm for a full month or so, Tiger King 2 picks up with Joe Exotic in jail, his former colleagues thriving on the outside due to the success of the series, and Carole Baskin very much alive and well. Tiger King 2 hits Netflix on November 17, 2021, and will run for five episodes. Check out the Tiger King 2 trailer below:

If you listen closely, you can hear a whole new phalanx of memes marching onto social media. There isn’t a clear storyline established in the Tiger King 2 trailer; just a bunch of trash people living up to expectations, like the original Tiger King. But it sounds like more details about Baskin’s deceased former husband will be revealed, which is good, as that was by far the most interesting part of the first season/series/however Netflix is categorizing this. The rest of it is a blur because I can’t remember who’s who; I know people loved it, but Tiger King pretty much left my mind as soon as I finished watching it. I didn’t get the fascination; everyone involved is a horrible person, with a handful of exceptions among the hapless dupes Joe Exotic got to work for him – and the lost, damaged souls he groomed and convinced to marry him. And that’s not even getting into how those poor animals were treated. I imagine Tiger King 2 will be more of the same; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The question is whether people will be as interested now that the lockdowns are largely over and there are other entertainment options. This is a big skip for me, but maybe those who loved it are ready for more.

What did you think of the Tiger King 2 trailer? Did you enjoy the first series? Is Netflix to be commended for the strength it probably took not to have anyone say “That bitch Carole Baskin” in the trailer? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to Geeks + Gamers for more TV news!
