      Ehh… ok

Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam – Perfect casting

Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate – Perfect Casting

Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone – Race swap n. 1, don’t know her, first thing i found was the trailer for the cringiest netflix show ever, and her acting in that looked mediocre

Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher – Lookes just like the character, but don’t like his acting

Aldis Hodge as Hawkman – Looks nothing like the character, but is a damn good actor, saw him in The Invisible Man (unfortunately that movie sucked), but he still gave a great performance and was the best part of the movie, this race swap i can live with

Originally, the wizard Shazam grants Adam powers derived from ancient Greco-Roman deities; later in the series, it was changed to ancient Egyptian deities.

In this revised origin, Teth-Adam was born on September 11, 1279 BC. Teth-Adam is the son of the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II, and impresses one of the high priests, the wizard Shazam, with his good deeds. The wizard gives Teth-Adam the power to become the superhero Mighty Adam by speaking the name “Shazam,” an acronym for Mighty Adam’s powers: the stamina of Shu, the swiftness of Heru (Horus), the strength of Amon, the wisdom of Zehuti (Thoth), the power of Aton, and the courage of Mehen. He does not draw powers from Shazam due to the demoness Blaze making a deal with the Egyptian god Set.

OK so I am unfamiliar with this character so I looked it up.

Don’t they know they have a Soman dude playing what was originally an Egyptian guy??!?!?!!!

I just cannot stand that sort of appropriation and lack of representation. I must now go find a place to rrreeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

Dwyane Johnson is pretty good movies but he is not really an actor.  I have yet to see a role where he just wasn’t himself.  I mean, nothing wrong with that at all it works for him as it has others.

He does movies that completes his strengths.  That is why he is in such movies.  Playing a character as close to his own personality/acting abilities, as he is able to.

Nothing wrong with that.  He and his agents knows what he can/can’t do, and pick projects accordingly.

Do I expect him to win any academy awards?  NO.

Can I enjoy this film for what it is, a fun/popcorn flick?  YES.

I have the same fashion sense as Cyclone 🤣🤣🤣

Watched Black Adam, and damn was it a fun and crazy adrenaline-rush of a ride!

Great performances from Dwayne Johnson, Pierce Brosnan, and Aldis Hodge ⚡⏳🦅

Noah Centineo was a pleasent surprise, i’d only ever seen him in sappy romcom clips, but he proved he can be tons of fun with Atom Smasher

And Quintessa Swindell… ehh, she kinda sucked, she’s pretty expressionless thruout most of the movie, especially during fight scenes, which should be some emotionally intense shit for the characters, it just feels off to see her with the same non-expression pasted on her face every time she launches an attack while the others are screaming or gritting their teeth, you can see the struggle, the effort, the “i will never give up”, and then there’s Cyclone just going thru the motions, i mean not that there’s need for screaming, the opening battle Black Adam is very calm and pretty stone faced, but Dwayen Johnson manages to make him so expressive just with the subtlety in his eyes, Quintessa Swindell’s eyes look dead in comparison

Favorite part of the movie was the final battle, that final blow to the bad guy, pure epicness, and of coures the post credit scene, stick to the end when you watch this movie, STICK. TO. THE. END!!
