Coca-Cola takes a $4-billion dive in wake of Cristiano Ronaldo snub

Coca-cola’s market value abruptly plunged by about $4 billion on Monday, in a dive that coincided with soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo snubbing the Euro 2020 sponsor during a press conference at the tournament.

Portugal’s world-famous team captain pushed two Coke bottles away from his spot at a table before taking questions in Budapest, ahead of a Group F game against Hungary. Ronaldo then held up a bottle of water and touted it as the better alternative. “Beba agua!” he said in Portuguese. “Drink water!”

The fact stock price dipped by 1.6 per cent almost immediately after the gesture – cause and effect?

Ronaldo, 36, is a well-known health enthusiast and has made no secret about his disdain for soft drinks in the past.

And they put it there anyway.

Coca-Cola responded to the snub by saying that “everyone is entitled to their drink preferences,” and that each person has different “tastes and needs.”

“Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar on arrival at our press conferences,” a spokesperson told various outlets…

And from images, one can’t tell what brand that “water” came from.

    Nice job!

And they put it there anyway.

They do it for every press conference. Depending on the sponsors of the competition, they have Heineken beer, Coca-Cola, Gatorade, Red Bull and so on. Heineken and Coca-Cola are sponsors for Euro21 and are always visible during press conferences so it wasn’t just for CR7. France’s Paul Pogba did the same thing with the Heineken beer, moved it away.

I personally don’t care about CR’s routines but I don’t like how he pushes it on his child becaue of his ego. His child is banned from eating fries and hamburgers, drinking soft drinks and is doing some really heavy training programs by his dad.

But this just shows the power of the biggest athletes hold, I believe CR is one of the biggest if not the biggest sport celebrity in the world, at least miles ahead of other footballers even tho I think he’s not the best player

    Good healthy living.

    A great role model.

Teaching his kids to grow up healthy (both in food consumption and lifestyle) is what every parent should do.

And it has nothing to do with ego.  It has everything with being a RESPONSIBLE PARENT!

@SuperSoynic_Speed , abour CR, that’s a lie bro lol, maybe you should not trust the news websites you’re reading. ;)

His kid (cris jr) has a great education so far. He wants to be a soccer player as well and his dad pushes him in training. But he’s free, he eats chips, he drinks coke, he plays videogames. What Ronaldo said in some interviews is he gets mad when he sees his kid drinking coke and eat chips, but he can’t do nothing about it because kids love that stuff. He said that in a joking way.

He is obsessive-compulsive about his health. It was a very manly move. No debate, just get this temptation out of my face right now. This is how men should act. Also, reading the comments here, my attitude is exactly the opposite. I think that kids should absolutely be pushed and that some of the very best experiences in life come after fatigue sets in. This Dewey attitude about let the kid decide for himself, I would just ask if it is working? Some Chinese students are working 16 hours a day in math and STEM. No one is going to be able to compete with that. It’s very difficult being raised on media your whole life, to discover the truth and realize that the propaganda and brainwashing is everywhere. Every cheap, throwaway song and every commercial is bombarding the senses of kids. If you don’t raise them, do you want Woke Corporate raising them? Do you want Big Pharma raising your kids? Those commercials are everywhere.

Here’s the hilarious response of Russia’s coach:
