    RGE made a good point

    RGE is my main man.

And he’s completely right (he usually is) – Failing to capitalize on the success of the Marvel films and hoping they will buy comics of otherwise unrelated characters is just a terrible marketing decision. This shouldn’t be hard to figure out, but the fact that Marvel just kept doubling down over the last few years just goes to show how its staff have become populated by possessed ideologues.

It also does not help that when people went into the store to buy a Tony Stark Ironman comic, they were no current issues.

The movies used characters from a dozen years ago.

They current comic books do not reflect their live action versions.

While not as drastic, the same can also be applied to DC.

Their current comic story lines (superman is married and has a teenaged son) is not what the movies are showing.

So those who like the movie versions, can’t find a current comicbook version to match.

Those potential fans do NOT want to try and navigate the back issues (with some comics having 100’s of issues) to pick one.

It just shows how little the films (and those producing them) think of the actual comic book industry.  To them, it is nothing but a source of material they can exploit.  It is not something to help build a prolonged industry.  It is all money NOW NOW NOW.

As stated, people go looking for real heroes and find this hot mess garbage instead….

    Damn.

I recognize what looks like Spider-man(?) in a black (venon-ish) suit.

    I see the Green Hulk.

I am not sure if that is Doctor Strange in front of the Hulk.

I have no idea who all those other figures are supposed to be in your top image.

Is one Elastic (wo)man, with one with the long arms/fat fits?

Is the one next to it in purple Huntress?

Is the one in a purple bodysuit with green chest Captain Ginyu?

    Who the Fcuk are those?

The ever so popular Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan….and her hand growing big is all she does.

    I think that’s Hawk Eye’s kid

What? You don’t wanna read Squirrel Girl? Or America Chavez, the latino superhero who isn’t even a latino because she’s an alien?

Is that girl with the long arms supposed to be Plastic baby grown up or something? When she get a sex change & jump from DC?

Movies are escapism and don’t have the stigma that comic books do. “Normies” can go see a comic book movie where everyone cheers and they can enjoy it with their crowd and then walk away from it until the next event flick.  Movies are more accessible to most people, and walking into a movie theater isn’t an act of counter culture the way that walking into an LCS is.  There are actually people out there who you’d hand a comic book too and they’d actually ask you how to read it because somehow the word balloon progression doesn’t make sense to them (I swear to God I’ve experienced this with someone).

Take that grouping of people out of the potential buyer population and you are left with a dwindling audience as many publishers have alienated buyers with their agendas rather than bringing in the new generation of reader that they thought would be there.

    There is a clear disconnect.

This sums it up very succinctly.

It’s the superwoke, supercharged superpowered version of Plastic Man.

Because western comic format is a train wreck and should take note from japanese manga

In some ways the Marvel movie expose just how bad the comics are now days. Even though they watered down and cucked Thor the MCU version blows away their comics version you have now. Dont get me started on how much better MCU Cap is compared to the disaster his comic is now.  Oh but juuuust wait your getting American Chavez, Captain “where is my child support check” 2 and bull dyke She Hulk on they way so the end of the MCU is well on its way.  Oh and lest not forget Lady Thor….oh cant wait..

    Absolutely.

Anything before the SJW infestations was great in comparison to the decomposing trash SJW versions are.

We need to amputation this toxic (SJW) cancer from society.
