I really, really hope SJWs don’t wreck this, Coming To America’s one of my favorite comedy movies

They do seem to make fun of political correctness 😂

I wouldnt get my hopes up but I would be willing to give it a chance if I hadnt deleted my Amazon account and boycotted the company, as a whole. To my knowledge, Eddie Murphy hasnt been a super woke asshole.

I had no idea this hat been shuttled to a stream release.

CtA 1 sits on my shelf proudly as a classic that has aged well.

Hopefully this doesn’t turn out to be a piece of shit, because I don’t want it sullied.

Noooooooooo! Shut up! Stop it! (covers ears) La-la-la-la-la-la!

I just hope they give us a good story.

One that can be tied in to the first film and if there is anything new of major importance, make sure it makes sense.

… Not to much to ask for right?

As for plot, in the trailer they are going back to america to find his son (who is now an adult) who he did not knew existed.

          Not excited for this film.

Oh, and I can’t wait to hear how the “mother” is gonna sue for past child support, and will want half the father’s wealth for her gold-digging self.

The first reviews from users don’t seem very positive

But well, in this day and age, it’s very hard to make a decent comedy, knowing that if you offend any special group, you’re done.

Not sure if I’m going to watch this one lol If I do is just for the nostalgia thing…

          Watched it this morning.

Working on the review right now, but it will probably not be done before Friday Night Tights, so I’ll probably post it either after that or tomorrow morning.

Will do a Coming To America marathon in the next couple days, can’t wait to watch them and your review straight after @Roas 😁

When I saw this thread I wanted to see the movie before I even opened it, so I waited. I have seen it, and it’s not bad. I mean not as good as the first one, but it’s not bad. I loved the first one. I remember renting on a regular basis form the video store when I was younger. There were some cringe worthy moments, but over all it was enjoyable. If I were rating it on a website I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars. Though with the crap pouring out of Hollywood I’d say it’s the best new movie I’ve seen in quite a while. I really love the scene toward the beginning that ties it in with the my favorite Eddy Murphy movie Trading Places.

Finally got around to watching Coming to America marathon… how was the sequel?

I really apreciate that SJWs didn’t infect this movie with wokeness 🙏 and making fun of vegan burgers 🤮🤣🤣 but i’ll stick to the original

              #214776

Unfortunately maybe my brain is just too “alert mode” with wokeness lol and I can’t watch anything with a certain amount of it lol  For me, the movie was still too woke, I couldn’t finish.  Sometimes I envy you guys that can still enjoy moderate woke movies haha

Any scene with Leslie Jones and her son was quite stupid and woke.

Just look at the first scene of the son in that job interview… it was super woke ^^”’

I love comedies, and if the joke has quality, they can make fun of any race, I don’t care. But in this movie (just like most movies today) that was not it, that was just anti-white leftist propaganda.

My favorite comedy all time is Friday and they make fun of white people as well, but it’s not political, it’s just funny.
