COVID cancels Christmas, or at least the much-loved seasonal market in Toronto.

COVID cancels Christmas: Toronto forced to go without much-loved seasonal market

COVID has cancelled work, classes, and festivals all over Toronto – and now it’s cancelled Christmas.

Well, not exactly. But Mayor John Tory announced yesterday that the Toronto Christmas market won’t take place this year in the wake of the increasing number of coronavirus infections across the city.

Tory told reporters that the cancellation was disappointing, but necessary.

Still no concrete word on how various jurisdictions will handle Halloween, but they know for such (at least in Toronto), that the lockdown is now effective our Christmas season.

    No loss.

Unless you are a small business or an entrepreneur.

Monopolies are just around the corner.

Look at the rat; they have been one for a decade and no one fucking cared.

The anti trust laws have been burned to the ground.

Most part-time santa’s will not be spreading joy this year.

A few mall santa’s will have to do so, behind plexi-glass, with a bench infront of it for the kids to kid down on.

And one can still get a picture, that at the right angle, will not cast a reflection.

    Not the same experience, IMO.

That is, if we don’t get a second lockdown which would cancel ALL mall santa’s, and all small businesses when this is the time of year where they will make money, break even, or go under.
