I Just heard a rumour that D&D is gonna be censored, is this gonna effect the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3?

Think I saw something on twitter the other day about WotC changing the “problematic” aspects of Orcs and Drow. And that they had already started those changes in two recent books. Vague, I know. And its from twitter. So for now I’d take it with a pinch of salt. Even if it has a certain ring of truth too it considering how woke WotC is.

I found the tweet and tracked it back to a blog post on the WotC D&D website. So looks like they are indeed going to do it. Or at least are paying lip service too it.

I’m into roleplaying (not videogames) and I love Dungeons & Dragons since the 90s, but after reading the Dragon Heist campaign I started to see a lot of political stuff like “the wall”, the refugees who can’t enter into the city, all guards are corrupted… I played the campaign rewriting a lot of storylines. In terms of rules the 5th Edition is great, but you can see the woke ideology behind. The old D&D comicbooks like the Dritzzt Omnibus had some attractive female characters but now they have censored them.

The same happened with Vampire The Mascarade – Bloodlines II. In the last trailer they portrayed the anarchists as “the good guys” and the Camarilla as “the evil guys”. That’s bullshit. One good thing about World of Darkness was that there are not “good guys” and everything is grey.

And now the orcs thing, so no, I won’t buy Baldur’s Gate III or Bloodlines II. My nº1 rule: Never support woke products.

Vampires II is really funny to me. It’s like they don’t realize the reason 90% of people are aware of the original is because of the super hot blonde chick. The only reason most “normies” know of the game is youtube thumbnails with her. haha
Remove that character, that game wouldn’t have became a part of mainstream gaming culture.
And then they wanna make Vampires II a game about attacking misogyny. haha

Paying people who don’t understand D&D to get triggered is fucking stupid.

At no point have I looked at a Drow or an Orc and saw anyone of African decent.

The Drow have a culture and God worship that leads to oppression and supremacist behaviour.

And the Orc’s follow a warrior culture.

At no point do these represent anyone of African decent.

Have you ever played D&D?

There is more choice available to player’s than anyone can ask for, you can be pretty much be anything you want.

You wanna be female, do it.

You wanna be a lesbian, do it.

You wanna be Trans, do it.

No one gives a shit what gender or sexuality your character is, what matters is your roleplay and immersion into the story.

Baldur’s Gate 3 better not get fucked up, they already have a massive bar to even hope matching Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2.
