Do Manfred’s Changes Make the Game More Watchable?

Just a curious thought. The 7-inning double-headers and the extra man on 2nd were meant to shorten games and make them “more watchable” for casual fans… somehow.

To me, the man on 2nd not only makes the game worse, but actually makes it MORE CONFUSING for casual fans, but I haven’t talked to any casual fans who have started watching baseball. The 7-inning double-headers do make the overall games shorter. Of course they do. You’re cutting off 2 full innings from each game. Is it easier on the teams playing? I’m sure it is. But I haven’t seen any reaction from them to see if THEY like the change or not.

I could probably be “OK” with the double-headers, but the man on 2nd in extras kills it for me. I don’t even know how much of a factor they’ve been in extra innings, how much they’ve “shortened the game”. Personally, I would much rather have games end in a tie after the 12th, 13th or 14th inning

Rather like the 7 inning DH game.

Completely ambviolant over the man on 2nd in extra innings.

Shit that needs to be fixed would be umpires who cant decide from one inning to the next where the strike zone is. Catchers being able to move the ball nearly a foot after the catch to ‘influance’ a umpires call. They know where the strike zone is; if the umpire cant do the job give it to the robot.
