First…. FFS when will people give the Encyclopedia a rest, it is cannon as written. what part of FRANK HIMSELF writing the forward and contributing “most likely” under a “pseudonym” do people not Understand? Yes contradictions Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse, but Frank knew that they were, most likely doing so on purpose. Hell People forget the massive time jumps in the books. History as many contradiction in it depending on who is telling the story and Frank also understood that.

As to Gina playing anything, I don’t see it happening, she hitched her horse to Ben, which I think has the possibility of hurting her career, unless her movie is a blockbuster which I have doubts about. Also the characters in the books are very polished and flushed out, I cannot see any of them she could realistically play she is not the most polished actress around and the books characters need that. Its why many worry about Jason and Zen, they are not (for lack of better words) classically trained shakespearian actors.

As we all breathlessly watched the newest “Dune” trailer released by Warner Bros. last month, fans are gearing up for a spice-fueled odyssey to a distant galaxy when director Denis Villeneuve’s far-future epic rolls out in theaters this fall.

To complement this latest cinematic adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 sci-fi masterpiece, Boom! Studios is releasing a third offering in their engaging series of “Dune” comic books titled “Dune: A Whisper of Caladan Seas” in December.

In partnership with Herbert Properties LLC, the LA-based indie publisher has just revealed a first look at the dynamic new one-shot that naturally expands the deep mythology of “Dune.” It’s adapted and scripted as a 40-page standalone tale by New York Times bestselling authors Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, with artwork courtesy of illustrator Jakub Rebelka (“Origins”) and lettered by Ed Dukeshire.

Why am I getting the feeling every youtuber and Indy will be trying to play FAN and get he clicks and dollars? lol <sarcasm>

Quinn is probably who should be the only Youtuber to view, The rest are just there for the clicks. There are Fans out there, that might be worth listening to if they make videos, but probably nothing new Quinn hasn’t covered. I thought I knew the Verse but damn he has some points so vague he has shocked me for a long time on what he picks up on.

There really are only 3 or 4 fans that make consistent quality videos. It seems like a lot online, but really, it’s usually a handful of people in any given niche that makes it seem like everyone is doing it.

“The Voice” is used in this latest trailer. It’s supposed to be even more complex in the film.

Not sure man, I keep seeing more and more people talking about it… Jump on the Band Wagonners.

This is a Movie and Book series I have loved for 40 years, Always hoped in my life to see it done right on screen. I am trying my best to only discuss it here and still watching only Quinns videos. Reason is simple, I want real fans conversation (like b5) Learned my lessons with GOT. So many “fans” that have to “explained” to us about what we were suppose to have seen…. All for clicks… FFS I knew the GOT lore for years before HBLOW got ahold of it and all these content creators tried to tell fans what they saw…. Well what they saw was not even 1/4 of what is in the books or to come… But hey BOOK FAN and use to be proud of it… Now fat fuck has ruined that even….

Reason for the DUNE 2021 Gender Swap Revealed!
          Nerd Cookies
Recently, an article came out in the LA Times detailing the process behind adapting Frank Herbert’s iconic sci-fi novel Dune to film. The Times sat down with director Denis Villeneuve and screenwriters Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts to discuss the guiding principles behind the film. In this video I’d like to talk about what stood out the most to me from this article and how it aligns with what was in Frank Herbert’s book. Spoiler alert as I will be talking about some crucial plot details from the Dune saga.

We finally have an explanation for the gender swap of Liet Kynes in #Dune2021 from screenwriter Jon Spaihts in an interview with the LA Times. I cover and react to his controversial comments in my latest #Dune news video:

I notice he has a lack of interest in gender swapping any of the Bene Gessirit.
And, in the Dune series, the BG shaped the entire universe, they brought about Paul and the God Emperor. The all female Fish speakers are the enforcers all throughout the universe for thousands of years, a woman kills the God emperor and the Honoured Matres are about as powerful and kick ass as it gets.
What book did this tool read that he thinks women in the Dune universe are in need of his re-writing efforts?

Whenever I think of the Bene Gesserit, I think of either ballet or the Rockettes. The Bene Gesserit were like Ninja Nuns and the opposite of the Handmaid’s Tale, as they were the ones imposing their will, but in a stealth way, on the germ-lines of humanity. I think of the fighting movements and flexibility that is described in the books.

Singapore Trailer. Lil bit of new footage.

DUNE has started to make it’s way into the realm of comic books. Let me know if you’d like me to post the comic summaries from Ron Reviews on this thread. He does a good job. Some issues he likes and others, not so much.

thanks for the like, friend. Here’s a couple of more Ron Reviews of the comic for Dune: House Atreidis.

Well d’uh, it was a race/gender swap. No reason for it what-so-ever.

When you take someone else’s works and change them for YOUR Opinion or how you think it should be for “Modern times” you are a fucking tool!… You want to tell someones story, tell their story… FFS the BG is nothing but women, VERY POWERFUL women. Pauls Mother, Alia All the powers of the BG and a Reverend Mother from birth.

I keep saying I am giving SdB a chance she might be do good in the role, but for the writer Ya Fuck-off writer.

Dune Review From GameSpot – A “Perfect Film” Except For Those White People
            DDayCobra

OrangeManBad TDS in past of reviewer. I am actually surprised that GameSpot fired the writer because he’s clearly in insider and a made man and part of the mob that runs media. The guy is privileged in the real sense and can probably get a job anywhere because he’s connected the way most of you never will be.

Your reviewer clearly didn’t understand that Paul Atreides story is literally a deconstruction of the white saviour trope and a warning to people trusting charismatic leaders and those who would call themselves messiah.

DUNE 2021: Paul Atreides Is Not A White Savior!
            Nerd Cookies @nerd_cookies
The presumptive accusation I’m beginning to see crop up more frequently is that Frank Herbert’s novel Dune positions Paul Atreides as a “Chosen One” leading to the claim that he serves as some sort of white savior. While others in the Dune fandom have covered this issue, given its recent resurgence and probable continued propagation in the media, I’d like to offer my opinion in regards to this concept. One interview which actually served as the catalyst for my creation of this video was in an article on Slashfilm with the headline Dune Director Denis Villeneuve Says His Interpretation Critiques The ‘White Savior’ Narrative. I’ll leave a link to the article in the description below. One point I’d like to hone in on is the portion where the article mentions the complaint that Dune contains the literary trope of white saviorism.

This just shows how little they know if anything.

Probably seeing a white guy in trailers and are getting a feeling he is the hero and savior.

Maybe instead of assuming, or as I have said jumping on the video bandwagon, they might read a book or two. Heck I hear if you cannot read there is <gasp> Audio-book, where someone reads it to you like your mommy use to (probably still does if you live in her basement)

If I had to pick a hero for it, I would go with Lady Jessica, but ya ok we will go with the person responsible for the most deaths in Galactic History.
