      My absolute favorites are:

      Okami
      Katamari Damacy
      GTA: San Andreas
      Viewtiful Joe
      Need for Speed Underground 2
      Gauntlet: Dark Legacy
      Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows
      Mortal Kombat: Deception
      Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
      Black
      Psi-Ops
      Mercenaries

It’s really hard to pick one just from those, but I think if I was to go with one it would be Mortal Kombat: Deception

Thanks for the reply. So yugioh duelist of the roses is actually a sequel to yugioh forbidden memories from ps1 but it takes place around the time of the war of the roses timeline. The characters from the anime are acting as the actual people from the war example is Yugi being Henry Tudor.

Dragon quest 8 is where you play a royal guard in pursuit of a evil jester who curses his king and his girlfriend princess while meeting friends.

Dark Cloud 2 deals with time travel to restore the future from a dark emperor.

Like the PS3, the PS2 had so many memorable games for me, it’s hard to name just one.

Like others have said, the Legacy of Kain games, “Blood Omen 2”, “Soul Reaver 2”, and “Legacy of Kain: Defiance” are definitely on my list.

A couple notable mentions (and reasons why) include:

        – James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing – In my opinion, this is the best James Bond game ever made. This game made me feel more like Bond than any other Bond game before or since (and I’ve played nearly all of them). This game was also notable for being one of the first games to use face scanning technology to capture the actors’ exact likenesses. The voice acting talents included both Pierce Brosnan and Judi Dench in their roles as Bond and M.

        – Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb – Like the Bond game, this is, in my opinion, the best Indiana Jones game ever made. It captured the feel of being Indy that has not been replicated before or since (right down to whip mechanics and a decent fisticuffs fighting system). It’s a prequel to “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” that has Indy tracking down the tomb of the first Chinese Emperor before the Nazis beat him to it.

Other notable mentions (in no particular order):
        – Drakan: The Ancients’ Gates
        – Dragon Ball Z: Budokai
        – Devil May Cry (the original)
        – Silent Hill 3
        – Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
        – Star Wars – Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
        – Star Wars – Battlefront II

However, if I have to only choose one, it would be:

Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening

A prequel to the first Devil May Cry game, it features the young half-demon Devil Hunter, Dante, fighting to stop his twin brother, Vergil, from opening the dimensional door to the Demon World and undoing the work their father, Sparda, did to seal it in the first place.
The game expands on the excellent combat system the first game was known for by introducing combat styles Dante could interchange between and upgrade, and, in addition to the story of impending doom from the door to the demon world being opened, it features a vain attempt by Dante at redeeming his twin brother.

The parts of this game I remember in the game are the 3 boss battles against Vergil throughout the game. Each battle, had Vergil’s moveset expanded, adding to the challenge. The other notable boss battle for me was the one against Nevan.

The game has already been remastered multiple times via collectors’ editions on both the PS3 and PS4.

Hello again Jbourdeau, I appreciate you getting back with me. It is interesting that I have watched the anime of yugioh when I was kid but never thought of it having its own video game franchise. Thanks for letting me know. The plots to Dragon Quest 8 and Dark Cloud 2 sound interesting. I appreciate your insights into you favorite PlayStation 2 video games.

Hello Siobhan Frederick, thank you for your reply. I appreciate it that you created a list of favorite video games and then choose one game out of the twelve games posted to be your favorite. Although I have not played all of the games listed here, I have definitely played Need for Speed 2 Underground 2 and enjoyed it. Who are your favorite characters in each of your games? Just out of curiosity.

Hello ChadIncel, thank you for your reply. It looks like you have four videos that are classified as your favorite. I also appreciate the visual images of the video game’s covers. Well done. I have heard great things about the trilogy of Ratchet and Clank. I have never heard of the SmackDown video game. Who are your favorite characters in these games? I have not played them before, but I appreciate others that have different interests than me.

Hello again ChadIncel, thank you for your reply. This is also a great list of video games here. I have heard of Gran Tranismo franchise and the Grand Theft Auto franchise but never played them before. I have heard of Star Trek but the video game of Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force…I never heard of before. Can you tell me if Stark Trek Voyager is part of the Star Trek Voyager franchise or is the video game a spinoff of it?

Hello Verkano, thank you for your reply. I do not see duplicates of your post so no worries. You have an amazing list of video games from both the PS3 forum and here that I have seen today. I have played Star Wars – Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars – Battlefront 2. Both of these games were gems of mine growing up so I appreciate the honorable mentions. Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening is an amazing game to select from the PS2 era. It is a difficult game and I have watched some of the story on YouTube despite not playing it before. Finally, I appreciate your reasons as to why Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening is your favorite game. I hope to heard more from you in the near future when it comes to future forums.

I think its part of Voyager because it takes place on the ship along with some of the Voyager crew.

I wish I could say Kingdom Hearts… but I wasn’t able to find copies of those until the PS3 era with the rereleases… that said I absolutely loved Spider-Man 2 for the PS2. The web slinging was ahead of it’s time and even if combat was a bit clunkier than it would later be in the PS3’s Web of Shadows and PS4’s Marvel Spider-Man, SM 2 had a good, if a bit basic, combat system that became the base of what Arkham would do later (then SM games started imitating Arkham as well… which is kind of amusing but that combat style lends itself well to both Spider-Man and Batman)

Hello again ChadIncel, thank you for getting back with me. I am glad that the game is part of Star Trek cannon.
