Never really played Fire Emblem but I like using Marth in Super Smash bros. If I were to get into the series where should I start?

Well Marth is in DS games but I don’t recommend them to beginners. If you want to get into series, play Fire Emblem: Three Houses with the Golden Deer and Blue Lions path because those are good for beginners. The 3DS titles I recommend is Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright. So which one would you like to start with?

I’d say Fire Emblem used to be underrated. Now it’s blown up exponentially and has become one of Nintendo’s biggest franchises. Awakening is the game that saved the franchise, so there’s that. I just wish some other lesser-known Nintendo franchises would get more love. Unfortunately, some that I like such as Golden Sun and F-Zero have been dormant for years.

I really loved three houses. I know a lot of people hate her but for me Edelgard is my fav. character.

I had no idea that the mention of Edelgard’s name could cause wars on certain game forums lol. After going through her route and then reading up all the info on the other routes, I can understand why she is such a controversial character. I still liked her as a character though. Hard toss up between her and Dorothea for me regarding favorite character in the game as I really enjoyed her backstory a lot. Of the 3 house leaders though, Edelgard is my favorite.

Yes you are correct, it grew to be one of the hottest Nintendo franchises when Awakening dropped. So maybe Fire Emblem isn’t underrated anymore per se, but rather it gets too much unjust hate by people who have never played the games. And they hate it with a passion.

Just look at the Smash community. Actively demanding to CANCEL existing Fire Emblem characters from the roster and sending death threats to the devs for adding “aNoThEr AnIMe sWOrdSmaN” as DLC from a new bestseller game. Disgusting.

I’ve been a Fire Emblem fan for a while now and it’s been quite the journey seeing this series rise up to become one of Nindendo’s flagship franchises. I’ve never been particularly great at Fire Emblem or other strategy games for that matter, but I’m always ready jump into a new game whenever they come out. Also before anyone asks, Eliwood from Blazing Sword is the best character and Ingrid from Three Houses is best girl.
