Wish I could say it made me curious, it looked ok, but in all reality I just cannot trust HBO.

I mean 3 dragons a Wolf and Giant CGI was expensive so seriously doubt we will see Dance and lets face it without the Dragons especially in the early part of the Dynasty its just going to be boring…. Plus Still cannot forget how bad HBO dropped the ball with GOT and even True Blood to name a couple others.

      almost here.

But remember, always have low expectations… it’s the only way to enjoy stuff nowadays lol But I hope this is decent… I’m looking forward to watching this and then re-watch again game of thrones (ignoring the last season ofc).

I have to ask, did you ever read the books? Because the show from S-1 was not the books. I enjoyed Seasons 1-4 even though what Dumb and Dumber were doing to it was nothing like the books. Season 5 on I watched for the train-wreck, I knew it was heading for and was not disappointed.  It is now 100% completely unwatchable to me, and many fans.

I really advise people to read the books, well did until it is clear he will not finish them, and has said will not allow others to finish them if he dies. I will remind you the last book was published July 12, 2011 that is 4056 days or 10 year 1 month 7 days.  George is 73 and still no Winds of Winter in sight. If he gets it out this year at Christmas based on his writing style for the books, it will be another 1o years before Dream. So im doubting the series gets finished.  Unless he drops them both at the same time in one giant book. And just calls it “Here you go you selfish Bastards”

This new show is NOT going to stay to cannon we already know it, and my distrust of HBO to make good content is already solidifying. People including myself say if GRRM is part of it and ok with the changes so be it he is the Author and if he wants his own cannon fucked up its on him. Just another reason as bad as he wants to be talked about in the same sentence as Tolkien, it will NEVER happen! With the exception of him being the cautionary tail of how to start off on that track and then fall off it.

Now if I hear from people its really good, I might watch it. But sure as hell wont be watching it on HBO, people dance around the subject all the time, but lets be honest, within 2 hours of airing it will be all over the web for free. Ok lets be more honest, if its like GOT it will be mistakenly released ahead of schedule and on the web before the airing time lol.

I’ve read the TrueBlood books and I did enjoy them for most of the part. The climax on the last one was a bit lacklustre though. As for ‘Game of Thrones’ I’ve enjoyed the books but I’ve only seen up to series 4. Other TV shows have taken up my occupation so I’ve not watched seasons 5 and 6 yet (I’m NOT watching 7 and 8 until the books come out). When the Harry Potter films were coming out Rowling had just finished the fourth book but she still found time to write the other three books between press events events and working with the films (I’m going to pretend those horrible ‘Fantastic Beasts’ films and books don’t exist). Sadly, times have changed since ‘Game of Thrones’ originally came out and I’m going to assume that the only reason why Martin hasn’t released the last book is because he knows Twatter will be after him.

If I had to guess the reasons why he has not finished them it would be these reason in no particular order.

          1. GOT made him RICH
          2. He cannot finish them in a way the show does not end or people will say he changed it because of how bad it was (his ego)
          3. He is at a complete loss of what to do, he spun to big a web of characters and has no way to finish all their stories properly.

Well we know #1 is true, so lets look at 2 and 3 in simple terms.

Lers look at #2 first; He said at the beginning that the 5 primary characters would make it through to the end. “Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and three of the children of Winterfell, Arya, Bran, and the bastard Jon Snow.” Well the show runners done fucked that up didn’t they. He also said it would be “Bittersweet” That ending was not bittersweet, it was the worse season in TV history “so far.”  Now he stated that to his Publisher, granted at the time it was only suppose to be a Three book set. Which now takes us to Number 3.

He has made the story so big with so many characters and storylines he has no idea how to wrap them all up, let alone his main characters. I remember my High School English Lit saying “If you write a story keep the characters to a minimum and simple so you can finish it in a meaningful and sensible way” She was right and he has done the opposite.

Tolkien Wrote his stories keeping it simple, and then after the stories were told built his world. Martin tried to do both. He cannot keep track of his own timeline and characters, this is what Linda and Elio did. Yet I bet even they are having a hard if not impossible time now. And lets face it George is Rich  going back to #1 and people keep throwing money at him, so he has no desire or need to finish the books.

If i had been running HBO there is no way in hell I would have let season 8 air. All off the people responsible for that should have been fired. I would have told Dumb and Dumber, <If you are burned out and want to move on, please do, then brought in people to continue my cash cow> or, and I preface this on a completion clause in Martins Contract. I would have not let it go past season 4 {I would have then reminded him of the completion clause and sued the living hell out of him or cut off all payments and compensation to him until he finished} basically hold him accountable to finish, and done so very publicly to save HBO Face.

No matter what, its on him. I don’t and won’t trust him to finish anything he starts. HBO lost a lot of peoples faith after it, though to be honest True Blood which you brought up was a major warning for people.

I was only able to watch series 1 of TrueBlood as I thought it was over sexualized in comparison to the books. I’ve no issues with those kind of scenes but there’s a difference between raunchy and over sexualizing it.

I wouldnt say over sexualized, it was the training ground for whomever was in charge of the Boob Quota for GOT…. Then some sumbitch canned the person, I would like to personally find the tic turd who did that and do some unspeakably evil things to it.

I have the 1st book in my room for many years and I still didn’t touch it lol I’m a slow reader, I’m still finishing Dan Simmons books (Hyperion).

But I’m a big fan of the show, the 1st seasons are top-class entertainment, really high quality.
I really enjoyed the show, until the last 2 seasons.

Season 7 was not good but watchable. Season 8 was a disgrace, completely unwatchable, unprofessional, 100% a parody. It matched the beginning of the culture war inside the whole entertainment industry…

I’m hoping this House of Dragons is, at least, watchable.
            Cheers

The only time I’m a slow reader is with digital books. My eyes can only look at a screen for so long! At least stuff like Amazon Kindle is handy for bookworms like me who buy a lot of books to the point where the shelves are groaning under them.
