For anyone who already owns The Witcher 3, they are releasing a free “next gen” update on Dec 14th.

From what I gather it is just a graphical update, the game remains the same.

I am looking forward to it as I did not finish the game but will post update just for fun.

Anyone else looking forward to this?

Check out Hollywood Scholars Videos, he can explain it in great detail and length.

So, I started the game THREE times on PS4. I have the Complete Edition.

I hated the combat, it just flat out ruined it for me. NOT very refined. The character movement was sluggish and sloppy as well. I frankly don’t understand all the praise this game gets. People say the story is great, but I couldn’t get far enough for that because the combat was just bad for me.

I have read (and watched a few video’s) that they tweaked combat, skill wheel, and camera settings now. So, I will give it another try with the PS5 updates and upgrades. I really would like to see this story for once.

Got the update for PS5 with all the new bells and whistles and started the game all over…again.

I can say this is a vast improvement over the experience I had on PS4. I have been able to keep playing, finally. The combat is much better now, which was a frustration of mine and had me quit the game long ago, and the ability to change the way the camera sets on the screen is great. Another nice thing is the load times, WOW it’s better now. And, with the PS5 upgrades this game has some truly beautiful scenery now. I am playing in Ray Tracing mode 30fps so the graphics are better. It’s very nice.

I am about 30 hrs in now. Doing the Family Matters questline (at the end section where you go find the wife in the bog to recue her). Yes, FINALLY I am enjoying this game. I am taking my time and exploring and doing mostly side stuff. Yes, there are a few frustrations, but this is one of the only games where I seem to actually care about the story and characters. And, honestly, that doesn’t happen much in recent years. Even Horizon Forbidden West had lackluster, if not boring, story and quests. So, now I am able to see what all the “hype” has been about. I can understand a lot of it, it’s a very good game (now that it is fixed imo).

While it is nice that quests have multiple outcomes, I think sometimes it has too many. I research any important quest online before I do it. Such as the Witches of the Swamp storyline. Glad I researched it before just doing it without knowing things.

All the hype over Ciri, Yennifer, and Triss. (which of course is understandable) But, I find the witch Keira Metz to be a new favorite of mine. I felt an immediate attraction to her and her personality. I did her entire storyline (so far) and made sure to keep her alive (again, researching the quest online before doing it) It’s a pity she isn’t more important later in the game.

            Well, back to the game……

Glad to hear you are enjoying it.  I am waiting for a couple patches (which the second one dropped this morning) to polish out the new graphics.  So I am just trying to decide whether to start over or go off of one of my saves.  I was near the end and have DLC to play as well I have not touched.
