This is something I’ve been wanting Nintendo to do for years. The first Hyrule Warriors was fine, but it was its own thing. This one is actually part of the Zelda lore. Really smart idea to bring in other developers to make core Zelda titles for things that Nintendo might not normally do, i.e. multiplayer and large scale battles and to have it canon to the Zelda timeline all at the same time. I’m blown away that they’re using assets straight out of Breath of the Wild this time. Very much looking forward to this.

As a big, big fan of Warriors games, and also a big, big fan of Zelda, I’m definitely hyped.

Just hope they can solve some of the first HW’s problems. Mostly get rid of the unnecessairily bloated levels to artifically extend gameplay with grinding (255 was way the heck too much in the first Hyrule Warriors. I’ll give them credit for cutting out a lot of the unnecessary fat in Fire Emblem Warriors, but even that was a bit excessive.), and maybe also do away with the badge system, give me something more like Dynasty Warriors 7’s skill tree that didn’t force me to hunt specific characters for an item scavenger hunt.

But anyway, really looking forward to it, and hoping that some of HW’s cast can get in as non-canon extras. Wolga and Wizzro were my mains in the original HW. As for BoTW’s own roster, my favorite of the ‘champions’ was Mipha, so she’s probably the one I’m most interested to play as in this game. Hopefully she’ll be much, much better then Ruto was. (lol, disdain for Ruto’s moveset is something most HW players can agree on.)
