I’m sick of Disney’s crappy star wars

I’m so over Disney Star Wars. I’m done with their butchering of the EU, their butchering of the cinematic universe, and their butchering of already established characters. Even with their own stories, such as Rebels, Mandalorian, and even Clone Wars (IMO) they can’t even write good stories without it being a bunch of cringe characters (besides cara dune) covered in plot armor (more literally form recent shows) going on random adventures with very little story development, and the occasional fan service. I grew up with star wars, I’ve been a fan since I was 6 years old, and I still love it with a burning passion. I watched all of the clone wars, watched all of the disney star wars movies, played any video game I could get a hold of and bought as many star wars lightsabers and legos my 10 year old wallet could buy (I’m an 02 baby, so I’m still pretty new to all of this) and this is what I get, a bunch of garbage and then called every ist and ism in the book because I don’t like any of the new star wars.
Fuck this, if they can’t write a good original story, then why can’t I? I’ve been considering making my own bounty hunter story, but after the hot garbage book of beta fett has given us, I’m not gonna consider it anymore, I’m just gonna start making it.
Anyone here also fed up with their garbage, and/or wanna make a new star wars story, then you’ve come to the right guy. I may be young, but I ain’t gonna back down or do nothing about any of this
January 23, 2022 at 2:02 am #254301I’m in a similar situation, I gave up on Disney when I worked at the parks back in 2012. I’ve currently been experimenting with ideas and started posting them to the Geeks and Gamers Forum the other day. Currently, only one is on there, but I’m going to be writing another concept soon for “How the Book of Boba Fett Should Have Been Made.” But for now, this is the one I wrote for how to “Fix the Mandalorian Season One”. Would love to have your input over there! I hope to plan a short film in the future, but I have to test some story ideas first.
January 23, 2022 at 8:12 am #254304I am not a Theme Parks person, and frankly, the Star Wars park looks like a glorified shopping mall to me. I have zero interest in it, especially with their prices. I personally have never been to Disneyland or any parks. I really just have no interest in spending all that money in them. I liked The Mandalorian, Bad Batch, The Clone Wars Season 7, and Rogue One. Solo was meh, a rather pointless movie no one wanted. The sequel trilogy was flat out bad, unless you like CGI porn of some of the characters, then it’s good. lol. I have absolutely ZERO interest in anything High Republic. Boba Fett is disappointing, and a little sad frankly because this just is NOT Boba Fett. While I did enjoy some of the Tusken stuff, we are yet again on Tatooine. AGAIN. And, we will be there again with the Obi Wan show. The Krrsantan fight was just….bad. He would have DESTORYED all those people. When he gripped Boba in his arm’s he would have crushed all his ribs. It is VERY clear to me watching this show that it has been Disneyfied and toned way down. We have yet another case of a villain turning into a hero somehow, completely out of character, over and over again with this from anything related to Disney.
Let’s get away from the planets we continually go to. The characters we continually tell about. How about some Chiss and their planet Csilla? Let’s have a show about the Empire after ROTJ dealing with defeat and it’s retreat. NO HERO’S!
I am looking forward to Ahsoka, and on the fence about Obi Wan. Andor? Meh. The Acolyte? Nope, not with that woke show runner. Not interested in the Taiki Waititi movie, I am not a fan of his directing. I hated Thor Raganrok. But I will say I liked his voice acting for the IG droid in Mando. Rogue Squadron movie, we’ll see. I am sure it will be a female lead per the wokeness of them all. Lando show, nope. Droid Story, not really. Kevin Feige movie, nope.
I do not sub to Disney+, I do not give them my money. I watch through :other: means. I feel the pain of fellow Star Wars fans. I saw Star Wars in 1977 10 times. I was 4. It changed me, no joke. The best thing to do is not give Disney your money.

2) The EU is waiting for you. Real Star Wars has always been there during this nightmare. People need only realize this and move towards that shining light.

Theme parks: Last I went to Disneyland Paris back in 2017 was JUST before Disney went crazy and went into the Star Wars shop. Sadly I wasn’t a SW fan at the time but even I liked what I saw.
Books: I’ve only ever read ‘Lords of the Sith’ which was alright and the first of the ‘Aftermath’ trilogy…which I didn’t like because I kept getting lost and all the woke stuff was putting me off it.
Games: Currently playing on ‘Jedi: Fallen Order’ on my PS4 and I’m really enjoying it. Got a double-edged lightsaber a while back and nearly screamed like an idiot😂
TV: Can’t comment on that because I can’t afford D+.
Films: Original trilogy was great, the prequel trilogy despite its faults was good but I’ve not seen the sequels and I’ve no plan to. ‘Rogue One’ is the only Disney Star Wars film I’d watch if only for the Vader scene towards the end of the film.
Thoughts on future Disney SW projects: Not interested in most of it. I’d watch ‘Obi-Wan’ but I’m concerned that once again they’re going to pee all over it. Poor Hayden…😔

Agreed. I’m a huge Disney fan but I hate their current attitude. Their recent tweet about them claiming that they’re listening to their fans made me laugh because I knew they weren’t. Otherwise, they would’ve fired KK after ‘The Last Jedi’, still carry on doing 2D hand drawn animated films and STOP IT WITH THE LIVE ACTION REMAKES!
February 7, 2022 at 3:45 pm #256515I have also considered writing my own Star Wars story also cause the way Star Wars is being dealt with now is not great but I have to be honest though that The Mandolrian is good, not great but a good very small step in the right direction in terms of fixing Star Wars after evil aunt Kathy second degreed murdered Star Wars right before our eyes with the Disney Sequel Trilogy, Battlefront 2, Star Wars Destiny, and other woke stupid crap like that, she did over the years like the crazed psychopath she is.
Mandolorian still has it’s woke moments like the all female boarding party scene in Season 2 of The Mandalorian which was in my opinion woke but not Avengers Endgame Girl Power scene woke but still subtly woke none the less but the wokeness is getting sort of less bad in Star Wars right now under Jon Favereau for now than under evil aunt Kathy.
If you really want to see a franchise like Star Wars that is still very much woke and not doing their own Mandolrian like show to fix it….just look at Start Trek they are still doing Star Trek Discovery and Picard. They need to Mandolorian that soon or they’re gonna be worse off than Star Wars is soon.

February 8, 2022 at 7:00 pm #256613I’m more so numb towards what Disney has done to Star Wars than I’d say sick. Maybe it’s because I hadn’t been a hardcore Star Wars fan since the 2000s, but there’s also that failure and mediocrity is so common for Disney Star Wars that it’s difficult to feel shocked by this point.
Much of my attention to the franchise these days is just bile fascination, like seeing YouTubers roast the latest news on it. That, or watching MauLer and the EFAP crew commenting on the movies and shows.

TV and movies were sprinkled with propaganda since at least the 70s/80s. I remember it specifically.
But now (since about 2010) it’s all propaganda all the time.
