Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny . What a horrible title.

If the “action” scenes are as bad as Crystal Skull’s jungle chase scene, this is going to bomb.

It frankly doesn’t look so good….

I’m not impressed by the trailer either, and the leaks…if even half of them are true, this could be Disney’s biggest dumpster fire yet.

We know they want to keep the franchise going, but the alleged way they’re wanting to go could hurt profits way more than they realize. We don’t hand the hat and whip off to a new character that no one gives a shit about: we recast Indy in a way that feels…acceptable.

Step 1: Fire Kathleen Kennedy. Out of a cannon and into the sun if possible, but at the very least we need to remove her from having ANY influence or control over this project whatsoever.

Step 2: We bring Ford in as Old Indy.

Step 3: We hire someone to be Young Indy. If we want an existing star, I vote Chris Pratt because I rather like his performances so far and SJWs fucking HATE him, which is always a massive plus. Preferably, though, I’d want to find and bring in an unknown who can really look/act the part and remind us of Harrison Ford in his glory days. We are basically seeing Indy as he remembers himself in his youth.

Step 4: Look at the previous Indy films and realize the best movies stem from his exploration of religious artifacts and myths, and that’s where we take the story for this movie. I like the spear that pierced the side of Christ as our target, but we can find or create other myths for the movie that continue the religious themes.

Step 5: Old Indy narrates a watered-down version of what we see Young Indy going through on-screen. We cut back to the present and Old Indy only periodically and the movie is 90% Young Indy. This is a “passing of the torch” moment of sorts without beating the audience over the head with him literally handing over his gear and saying “It’s all on you now, kid.” We have successfully and believably cast a new Indy to keep the franchise going forward and we’ve left the door open to bring Ford back as Old Indy in future installments if he’s willing/able to.

      Step 6: ALL THE PROFIT!

No time travel. No giving the name/title/achievements away to a new character that audiences aren’t invested in. No shitting on the established legacy (outside of maybe erasing Crystal Skull from existence…).

If any of the rumoured 6 endings are true….

…this is not only DOA!  but it will get roasted to hell and back.

We seem to have reached the age where Hollywood stops giving us things and starts taking them away.

I couldn’t agree more with Drinker on this one. Yes the CGI does look awful. I guess Disney doesn’t know about Laura Croft since she’s basically the female Indy🙄… Also, what is it with the bad de-aging of actors of late??? I saw better de-aging on ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’!

I think it is to make up for all those films/TV episodes where they tried to AGE an actor with extremely BAD results.

So it only seems far to BADLY de-age them in return.

I have no desire to see this, not even on the high seas.

Now Cocaine Bear….. Ya that is getting my watch, heck might get my butt in a theater seat.

The only time I ever want to see a spoof version of Indy (which I can only assume that this film is) is on the original series of Pokemon when Gary Oak clearly dresses up as him on one of the episodes. I believe the episode was ‘Attack of the Prehistoric Pokemon’ which also had references to Jurassic Park. The whole episode was a Spielberg spoof😂

Every thing and every person has their day in the sun.  When it’s over it is over. For Harrison Ford and this movie series, it’s over.

My gut tells me the leaks for this are accurate. Hoo boy…this might out-Last Jedi The Last Jedi even.

The only hope I have for this is its director. James Mangold made Ford vs Ferrari, which was one of the top 10 films of the past decade. An absolute masterpiece with clever dialogue, excellent pacing, quite intelligent with both humor and heart. If he can repeat that feat, then Indy 5 has a chance. But I doubt it. Some of the cast is decent, Boyd Holbrook was excellent in all films I’ve seen him in so far (especially Vengeance, which I would recommend).

But Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a blight, a wokeist fanatic, ugly as sin and just the kind of raving lunatic who Kathleen Kennedy would hire for the role of Mary Sue.

Also, since it’s a Disney production, every action scene will be an overblown CGI shitfest with cartoon physics.
