This guy takes a tougher stance on this than what anyone else is taking. As much as I want to be sympathetic for Miss Biles, I find it hard to disagree to be honest.

Naomi Osaka started this trend and now many are following…

If you fail you fail, that’s life and you gotta own it, congratulate whoever beat you and work harder to improve yourself. But what this soft entitled generation is creating is finding excuses to justify their failures and still want to be celebrated for it… what a disgrace. It’s like: “you know what, i’m not feeling it right now, mental health is important and whoever trashes me is evil, so, like, I would win this because i’m the best but I will step away because we need to raise awareness for mental health” … basically that’s their message.

This generation lacks Mamba Mentality, I guess.

I think you are correct. This is absolute proof of what happens to that generation under pressure. Now granted, I am sure she was under tremendous pressure, but many have faced the same pressure (or worse pressure) previously and prevailed.

Also the whole self reference of “GOAT” is somewhat cringe and also an example of her generation. You get to be a something by being that something, not just by saying it.

I know she is an extreme talent. I know she is a crazy good athlete. But that whole “i quit” thing post her making a mistake is a sign of weakness in my opinion.

Maybe more comes out and we find out she was actually injured and that’s a different story, but for now it appears to just be a lack of intestinal fortitude. Which she is being called “brave” for. Which is sickening.

This is something that is new to me. I stopped watching sports. It’s a tough life that all these jocks have, no doubt about it. Never in all my years do I recall mental health being like some story. It comes off very vain, like this is the new reality show version of sports where their internal struggle is the story. Never before was mental health even addressed. This is shyster psychology industry in action. In the past, you did have jocks with substance abuse problems and alcohol, which is worse, I guess.

What’s unfortunate is that Biles was one of the very few that still has that wholesome image. I read her book and it was very pure of heart. Usually, all the drama happens after the athlete retires and that’s when you get the books and the dramatic TV series. As for sympathy, does the world show you any? This is another thing that America has to get over. When it’s someone like Britney Spears, it’s important, while everyone else gets evicted in life.

I don’t think anyone is saying to have zero empathy or sympathy for her. But she gave up on her team and essentially herself and is being called “brave” for it. That’s where the rub is. She is not the first example and I am sure she will not be the last.

After watching this video, one wonders if she didn’t have time to take any PEDs.
