I think the answer is no.  AAA gaming is in bad shape.  But outside of that, gaming is doing very well.  The indie scene is awesome.  Steam as a distribution platform has enabled so much gaming goodness.

Steam, if you poke around, is choked full of good stuff that is inexpensive.

I think AAA will be a shell of itself for awhile but I think new blood will come in and revive it in time.

For the most part, yes imo. AAA games are fucked, and 95% of game reviewers cannot be trusted. Thats why I’ve been screwing around with classics on my seXbox 360, there used to be banger after banger.

AAA gaming quality has taken a nose dive. Developers have become lazy and money hungry. In the old days, when you got a game it was the finished product, because they couldn’t “patch” it. Now, sometimes a year or more later you still don’t have the finished game (Cyberpunk, No Mans Sky. etc). They expect you to PAY 70 bucks for an unfinished, and an often BROKEN product. It is utterly wrong and there should be laws against it, because you aren’t buying a complete working product.

Ubisoft is one that has gone thermo nuclear with horrible game development, it’s actually what the corporation seems to prefer.

We need Trump to sign another executive order!!

      MGGA!!! Make Gaming Great Again.

Agreed! However, that’s a 2 way street.  If people buy it like that, they will make more of it.  I call that the “Madden effect”.  Why does Madden suck worse every year?  Because wingnuts buy it every year.
