Kathleen Kennedy Provides New Details For The Future Direction Of Star Wars

She says they’re taking a step back, but also said that the future of Star Wars is in television (as well as hiring female directors!)

So long as she has nothing to do with it, it should be successful.

“I think that in an interesting way, it has all the DNA of what George (Lucas) was always interested in. He was trying so hard in pushing technology, but at the heart of it, it was still focused on storytelling and characters, and also a kind of lived-in feeling to everything,” she continued.

So this was reply to a question about the Mandalorian.

In other words, being still FOCUSED ON STORYTELLING AND CHARACTERS…

Gess, if only she tried that with the disney prequels.

Kennedy then detailed what Lucasfilm is doing to plan for the future of Star Wars, “And now we’re stepping back. Stories have been told within this universe over the last 40-odd years, and there’s now the realization that this is a mythology that actually spans about 25,000 years, when you really start to look at all the different stories that have been told, whether it’s in books and games.”

This is quite a shocking comment given Kennedy previously told Rolling Stone that Star Wars did not have source material.

She explained, “Every one of these movies is a particularly hard nut to crack. There’s no source material. We don’t have comic books. We don’t have 800-page novels. ”

Kennedy added, “We don’t have anything other than passionate storytellers who get together and talk about what the next iteration might be.”

No source material, but 25,000 years of mythology they could use?

They had George Lucas’ outlines for the next trilogy of HIS Star Wars, and they decided to throw it out.

Storytellers?  Really?  Ruin Johnson did not give a dame about the next iteration, and very little on the previous one.  He wanted to make “HIS” star wars movie.

    Retire/quit already KK.

The future is NOT with you nor your anti-fan ideas.

Nothing Krazy KK has to say is relavent.

She will not have her contract renewed and has been powerless for a while now.

Unfortunately, by her continuing talking/trying to take creating for things she did not do, makes Lucasfilm look bad.

    Baby Yoda was HER idea.

The Mandalorian TV show was HER idea.

    etc.

It makes me want to puke.

next year can’t come soon enough for her contract to expire

If only they could give her and her SJW’s a Lucasfilm a layoff notice without penalty.

But then it would look bad in the media that they had to layoff a bunch of people (and a female who was in charge of it all) who ruined a four billion dollar company.

As a casual-to-moderate fan of the old EU, the ‘no source material’ line always infuriated me. Remembering the stories of the Yunzhong Vong, or Darth Nihilus (‘Death Star with a lightsaber’ as fans enjoy calling him) along with the rest of the KOTOR stuff, Exar Kun and the Old Sith Wars, etc.

There is some bittersweet humor to be had in how she says ‘no source material’ and yet a lot of Disney SW stuff is a cannibalized version of some of the less liked EU stories. (ex. Chances are everyone already knows this, but The Rise of Skywalker pulls a lot of story beats from Dark Empire.)

She is the Alex Kurtzman of Star Wars.

I also like how youtubers have been reports how many of the art marvel has been using in the comics are direct fan art variations.

They have no source material so they use fan art.

I don’t recall if any of the games also did the same, borrowing fan work without giving credit.

she must have some dirt on a few folks to be still in position, or Disney have been manipulated into believing her deluded lies

      #185353

do you reckon she is trying to recover and last-ditch attempt to keep her job, she promises a few good ideas, maybe it happens “keyword maybe , most likely no”, they give her a new contract, then she ruins it again due to an extension to her contract, and it becomes woke wars  where jar jar binks come back as a hipster vegan grey Jedi

Rumour was that KK wanted a “golden parachute”, where she would have her own production company (in which she takes all her SJW hires with her) and disney would distribute their crap.

Why I think disney woudl love for her to leave, and take her crap people with her, I think the sticking point is they would still have to distribute the “go woke go broke” sh!t they will demand on making.

      Here is a nice video:

Please let it repeat with KK.

Feminism and equality is a bad joke. The only thing that’s surprising is that people still defend it.

Joker is the bombshizzle. He doesn’t get everything right, but he gets most of it right.

That would actually explain a lot. Disney should’ve taken the deal. Her company would’ve gone under within a year or two, like in that BB video you posted.
