What do you guys think of Live Action Anime and Manga Adaptation?

What are your biggest concerns with Live Action Anime and Manga Adaptations?

I like Alita is as well the live action Korean Adaption of Jin-Roh Wolf Brigade and Edge of Tomorrow although Live Action Korean Jin-Roh wasn’t perfect and Alita was tamed but still I like them. I would rather have Alita Sequels rather than more Live Action Anime and Manga Adaptations because my biggest concern with Live Anime and Manga Adaptations is how they’ll tell a story. Like for example:

How will Pinker and Rosenbaum tell the story of One Punch Man?

How will Warner tell the story of Attack on Titan USA(Live Action American Adaptation of Attack on Titan)?

How will Woketitties(Taika Waititi) tell the story of Akira, will it be a woke comedy or a non-woke comedy?

How will Brian K Vaughan write the story of Live Action Gundam?

How were the stories of Dragonball Evolution, Live Action Fist of the North, Live Action Guyver, and other Live Action Anime and Manga Adaptations told?

Imagine Todd Phillips, Zack Snyder, JJ Abrams, and other filmmakers that you can possibly think of tell the story of Live-Action Adaptations of any Anime that you can think like for example Dr. Stone, Tower of God, God of Highschool, you name it.

    I tend to avoid them.

Sole reason? A 2 hour movie trying to tell any part of the source material, usually an introduction arc, will never get it right. Full Metal Alchemist and Bleach live actions butchered both stories.

Yeah.  I guess Alita is an exception to the rule. I just watched it the other day again, and it really is a great movie. I too enjoy Edge of Tomorrow.

I personally don’t mind the Japanese live-action films: They at least understand the source material better and there’s a kind of B-movie charm to them.

Hollywood can stay the fuck away from my anime, though.

i cant think of any of them i like. ive given up on them at this point most anime live action movies decide not to follow the souce material, that goes for hollywood and japan. i want theses movies to keep happening because i want them to get good. i prefer hollywood anime movies though because they have better special effects, and i dont like reading subtitles. im excited for the hollywood attack on titan movie thats supposed to be in production.

also alita battle angel was bad i think the only way people like it is with the bias of being fans of the manga/anime. i watched it without bias i didnt even know it was an anime movie, i liked it for the first 20 minutes but it got worse and worse until the end of the movie where i was like wtf did i just watch. the action looked geat and the effects were great but those are the only good things about it. overall it was horrible.

The problem is that most of these films don’t get nowhere near the funding they need to pull off special effects.

I guess you could do an adaptation where there aren’t special powers and abilities, but then it would just be a regular film. It’s kind of like what’s the point?

      The only watchable was Alita.

I won’t lie, despite 99.8% of live-action anime adaptations being garbage tier from top to bottom, I would really like to see Gundam…

      I love Alita: Battle Angel.
