Logged out for being “inactive”

Can we please change the amount of time the forum allows one being logged in (reading threads/topics/replying) before we time out for being “inactive”?

This is really annoying, especially if one has more than two tabs open, and if one does not reply on the one tab before the timer runs out, one is kicked out of ALL threads, even if one IS writing a reply.

So even though I have the “keep me logged in” checked, it means NOTHING if it kicks me out for not reading/replying fast enough.

What also is broken is that when one does get timed-out, the “Most Recent Topics” is also broken when one does log back in.

It shows me what was current… many days past. Today is Sept 20th, but it is showing me “Most Recent Topics” as of Sept 8th.

Even after I clear my browser’s “history”, I do not get a correct “most recent Topics” until the next day.

Don’t know how the two issues are connected, but the one does not happen unless the first one happens.

Same here. Recent threads are not working as intended.

Being logged out after 5 minutes. Took 20 minutes writing up a topic by the time I was ready to publish the topic I was logged out and lost the whole thing.

Wisely I have been writing everything in note pad. Then from word pad/notebook I copy and past it over.

If I am adding photos or adding links I have to make a note in notepad to add X photo here Y link post here.

Sometimes I will add a You Tube share link. And the post will not post at all. Sometimes it will but the video will not be embedded into my post.

For some time things had been working perfectly.

Been getting lots of phishing DM in here with people trying to get me to click on links to try to get my account info on here to Doxx or mess with me.

It happened to me again this morning.

So I turned off my computer.

Turned it back on – cleared my history – restarted computer.

Most Recent Topics are once again showing from weeks ago.

So now I am going to have to wait the entire weekend before “most recent topics” works properly again.

Can we please had a G&G tech please say if they have read these threads, know they realize there is still a bug in the forums, and are trying to fix it.

While this is happening, when I just looked up “My Points”, I got:

324,096

the newest point being awarded on

September 23, 2020 3:28 pm (Mountain time)

I think the number is total points awarded to that point in time.

So why during this “bug” do I get to see it?

I sometimes get old “Most Recent Viewed” lists. Then other times I cant comment. I ultimately have to close out the browser and log back in again. I dont know if it is my browser or something on the GG side.

Im not sure about the ‘most recent topics’ thing, but i think that means the topic that has the most recent reply? So it doesn’t matter if a topic was created days, weeks or months ago. If that has had the newest interaction it will appear as ‘most recent topic’

And holy moley you have 300,000+ points? Thats a lot, i think i have about 200?

But yeah, ive had a couple of times i was signed out after posting a lengthy reply. Had to type it all out again. When i make a lengthy post now, i copy the text before i hit submit, just incase. Not ideal, but has helped if i got signed out for taking too long

How have you got 300k points? We get 1 point for new reply or topic and 5 or 10 for friend request thats accepted?

I usually go to the forums and look at the most recent.

That is how I access the forums normally.

The 300K is a bug in the forums. SO when I get logged out for being inactive, but I usually have two or three TABS open.

So when one tab gets LOGGED OUT, I then view “MY POINTS”, it shows me the TOTAL FORUM POINTS, and this listing underneath shows each user, their time of posting, how many points they got, etc.

My account’s point total is just over 1K, as of this writing.

Hello. The development team has just changed the site to log you out after 24 hours of inactivity. If you are auto-logged out within a shorter period than that please let us know. Thank you!
