Talking and thinking about this today I could not help but to think.

There is and was no Rush for this, Could you have imagined basically an Unlimited Budget for “Weta”? Or bringing in People who truly Loved and respected Tolkien to act in it? What about a musical score by a couple of the greats… And how can you not film it in NZ?

The more and more just “production mistakes” I see having been made, the more this was doomed long before the Woke was interjected.  I think many of us are focused on the teasers and are forgetting the failures at the most core levels. Production, Modeling, Special effects and Score. They really blew it from the start.

When they said ‘Lord of the Rings’ TV series I knew it was going to be bad from the beginning. There’s no way it could be done on a TV based budget. Then again, I obviously didn’t count on the woke bs being pushed into this!

I actually had hope at first as, I had heard some of the rumored prices floating around. The Money “IS THERE”  Last I heard near 500,000 Million for the first Season.  LOTR was 281 Million and The Hobbit was 730ish million, that is 1.01 billion dollar budget for 6 Movies. If this show is typical series run time take out the opening and closing credits we are probably at 43 minutes…. The money is not the issue….. Well isnt the issue for having produced it correctly, but OH its going to be a problem when the Bean Counters see how big a loss it is for them.

I notice a lot of Lord of the Rings fans, especially those on the Left, tend to sidestep or all-together ignore its roots in White European mythology and, more importantly, its profound Christian themes (which is precisely what makes the story so timeless).

Any adaptation which fails to acknowledge both is basically worthless to me. In Amazon’s case, it cannot be chalked up to mere ignorance. It’s obvious even at a glance they’re deliberately being subversive.

Well it sucks for them is why they do not want to even acknowledge it because they know they will get hit with evidence in Tolkien’s letters where he was specific about it.

Forgot about this. I think it was announced a while back there would be female Orcs and progressive fans were creaming their pants because diversity.

            Uhh, okay…

I have Prime. I’ll watch for “free” just to see how bad it ends up being. A co-worker was saying how excited she was about this show, and she asked me about it, and I said I have no interest in it. She was perplexed, knowing I am a nerd. I simply said they aren’t following Tolken’s characters and stories and are changing races and genders to inject their politics in a place where it doesn’t belong. I don’t support that.

She said her son and husband binge watched Obi Wan, they loved it, and asked if I watched it. I said I hated it. :)

At least her and I can talk about our love for Ahsoka.

Some of us are able to use critical thinking and not just like something because it is Star Wars or LOTR.

My favorite thing right now are the stans consuming their copium in order to convince themselves this is going to be good. Countless examples of them in the trailer comments section.

I triggered one stan on my own breakdown who reee’d at me that the lore I used off a wiki, which was just a basic summary of Galadriel and others during the 2nd Age, was wrong because I didn’t use a book, when I’ve heard Gary (who I consider a master level LotR lore guy) basically say the exact same stuff when picking it apart, so I know I’m not wrong. But this little stan had to tell me I was basically wrong and a loser in a lame attempt to dunk on me.

I thanked him for being triggered, helping my interactions, and dared him to prove me wrong.

Then he came back at me when I poked him for being triggered…by saying he isn’t triggered, yet of course didn’t say anything to counter the lore I used to disprove the trailer and basically just called me a loser again.

Then another stan appeared and goes “The second season will be good because Sauron will forge the rings.”

I’m glad I’m too tired at this point tonight to even bother with these morons. It was pure chance that I even came back across their comments as I was going over things for the channel before I quit out for the night.

“It felt only natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien’s work would reflect what the world actually looks like.” – Lindsey Weber, E.P. Amazon’s LOTR Series, Vanity Fair (Feb. 2022) .

                    Letter 188: I wish to avoid a repetition of my experience with the Swedish translation of The Hobbit. I discovered that this had taken unwarranted liberties with the text and other details, without consultation or approval;

Letter 190: In principle I object as strongly as is possible to the ‘translation’ of the nomenclature at all (even by a competent person). I wonder why a translator should think himself called on or entitled to do any such thing. That this is an ‘imaginary’ world does not give him any right to remodel it according to his fancy.

Letter 131: It should possess the tone and quality that I desired, somewhat cool and clear, be redolent of our ‘air’ (the clime and soil of the North West, meaning Britain and the hither parts of Europe: not Italy or the Aegean, still less the East) J.R.R. Tolkien Letter
