As far as I’m concerned, Harry only has himself to blame. He was warned about MeGain and this is the sad result. They’re not very popular in the UK at the moment and even less popular after that interview.
Meghan Markle reminds me of a couple of women I was involved with down the years who absolutely drained me. First she got her claws into him, then she isolated him from his friends, especially his army buddies (none of whom were invited to the wedding, which was attended by celebrities the couple had never met,) then she turned him against his family. Meanwhile, presumably by threatening public tantrums, she turned him into a tyrant against his staff and he probably lives in terror of her rages and the damage they could cause if she goes public.
Another tool with this type of person is that she probably tells him people say bad things about him after an otherwise successful event that he enjoyed. Harry appears to have self-esteem issues and these ‘psychological vampires’ prey on that. He’s likely criticised and micromanaged for everything from how he combs his hair to this choice of shirt. So when we look at him now, we see this high strung, jittery, thin-skinned husk of a man totally in a thrall to this narcissistic woman. Gone is the ‘Jack-the-lad’ beloved of the British public. The interview – seeing how his wife continually cut him off when he tried to speak, either by over-talking him or a movement of the hand, was actually quite upsetting to watch. Likely afterwards he got torn a strip for his interjections.
The Oprah interview is an uncomfortable watch generally: a weak man, lacking in self-esteem, in the thrall of a manipulative sociopath. He knows he’s dug himself into a hole and there’s no getting out without huge embarrassment on one side and ‘hell hath no fury’ on the other.
Markle might have sufficient delusions of grandeur to run for office, but doing so has a habit of revealing all your deepest and darkest secrets.
Negitive.
She married into the royal family. As per Constitutional law she is no longer an american. She cannot run for any office as she now has a TITLE in another country.
No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.
What would be the effect of her being stripped of the title of duchess? I’m guessing she won’t just give it up but her antics may eventually result in the title being revoked (maybe that’s her plan?). From what I’ve read the constitutional amendment that would have automatically stripped her of her citizenship was never ratified and she didn’t come anywhere near completing the process of becoming a UK citizen.
Yay, she is a gold digger, suckered a rich prince, found out the world does not revolve around her and she had to act in a civilized manner, forced soy-boy to forsaken his future for her, gave up her attempt to be queen when she found out that was not possible, so she now has her sights set on following kamala in becoming POTUS.
That with the fact the British Royals are in the process of eliminating the number of royals there are (and titles, etc).
So the problem with “title” will be removed in time.
I can imagine the titles will go sooner or later. It would take an Act of Parliament to do it, likely a statutory instrument if the couple agree to renounce the titles.
Thing is, Meghan Markle imagined British royalty to be like ‘Hollywood royalty.’ It isn’t. the British expect you to work hard as a royal. The British Press make sure you don’t get above yourself. You live in draughty castles that are often in need of major repair. You don’t get high end photographers releasing glossy videos of you cuddling children to put on your website. More likely, many Royals will find themselves shivering outdoors in the rain, cutting the ribbon at the opening of a new hospice extension on the outskirts of a depressing concrete new town built in the 1950s, while press cameras strobe at them. It frequently isn’t glamorous.
Meghan has it both ways now: she’s got a Royal title – even though it technically has no significance in the USA, it will open doors socially – and she’s kept her US citizenship and become a major Hollywood resident. She’s akin to a reality TV star: she’s got celebrity status without having to anything more than split up the previously close family bond her husband had with his brother, sister-in-law and children.
