NHL to investigate claim Sharks’ Evander Kane bet on own games

The NHL said it will investigate an allegation made by Evander Kane’s wife that the San Jose Sharks forward bet on his own games and has intentionally tried to lose for gambling profit.

That would be horrible, if it turns out to be true.

The league said Saturday night on Twitter that it was made aware of the social media posts by Anna Kane and plans to conduct a full investigation. Anna Kane wrote: “How does the NHL let a compulsive gambling addict still play when he’s obviously throwing games to win money? Hmm maybe someone needs to address this.”

    If it is true.

The NHL said: “The integrity of our game is paramount and the League takes these allegations very seriously.”

A Sharks team spokesperson wrote in an email to The Associated Press that: “The San Jose Sharks have been in contact today with the National Hockey League about the serious allegations made against Evander Kane. We support a full and transparent investigation into the situation to maintain the integrity of the game and consistency with our team values.”

Does Kane have a history of betting?

Kane’s gambling history and finances have been public knowledge for some time. A Las Vegas Strip casino sued Kane in 2019, alleging he failed to repay a $500,000 US gambling debt racked up during a playoff series against the Golden Knights.

Once again, not a good sign.

Hope it is not true, and he was betting on his team WINNING, not losing.

Sports leagues/federations do not like it when a player tries to deliberately lose.

This is coming to the NFL soon.

The couple had filed for bankruptcy.

I am waiting to see the wife file for divorce and FORCE thru the feminist (family) courts she gets over HALF his remaining salary (even if he never plays another game if he gets expelled from the league if the betting claim proves true).

Kane will become another multi-millionaire athlete to lose it all.

Sharks’ Kane denies game fixing allegations from wife

San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane denied allegations his wife made on social media that he bet on NHL games, including against his own team.

Kane responded Sunday morning to allegations made the previous day from the Instagram account of his wife, Anna.

      What did he say?

“I have NEVER gambled/bet on Hockey, NEVER gambled/bet on a Sharks game, NEVER gambled/bet on any of my games and NEVER thrown a hockey game,” he wrote on Twitter. “The facts are I personally had my best season of the my career last year and was the most consistent I’ve been throughout any season, I’m proud of that. I love the game of Hockey and would never do any of what was alleged. I look forward to cooperating fully with the league’s investigation, having my name cleared and looking forward to this upcoming season.”

So during a season of “person bests”, Kane was throwing games?  That does not sound right.

Evander Kane said the two are in the process of getting a divorce and called Anna Kane “mentally unwell.”

“I love my daughter,” he wrote. “I will and always have taken care of my daughter in every way possible. I have always made sure her mother has had everything she’s needed and more. I have tried to de-escalate our divorce issues and be as civil and calm as anyone in this position could. I have tried to set up FaceTime calls but not every day as I would like to because of being restricted by her mom. She has refused me to see her and had unfortunately tried to use my daughter as leverage. I will continue to always take care of my family, that goes without question.”

So a divorce is getting more messy by allegations (not yet proven) by the soon to be ex-wife.

The more info comes out, the more I am siding on Evander Kane’s side.

But at the end of the day, everyone is in a lose-lose situation.

NHL finds no evidence Evander Kane gambled on league games

The NHL said Wednesday it has found no evidence San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane gambled on league games or made any effort to negatively impact his own club’s games.

      That is good news.

In July, Kane’s estranged wife, Anna Kane, came out with a series of public accusations against him, including allegations he had bet on his own NHL games. Shortly after, the NHL announced the league was opening up an investigation into the matter. Kane denied the allegations at the time, with respect to his personal conduct and gambling, and re-iterated that stance during the ESPN interview.

From my point of view, Kane’s estranged wife is trying to use the NHL in her nasty divorce with Evander.

And if she cannot prove any proof that Evander did as she claims, then I see that as not just false, but also fraudulent in nature.  And there are laws against that.

The NHL should look at getting compensated to doing an intensive investigation that was based on a lie.

True accusations, based on factual events, should ALWAYS be investigated and acted upon.

But when a false one is made to ruin someone’s reputation and employment (just for revenge), then the full weight on the law should be used to punish and prevent others from making false claims.

This guilty till proven innocent is WRONG!

Trying to make someone guilty in the court of public opinion (before they are proven innocent/guilty) is also WRONG!

Evander Kane facing new allegations of sexual assault, domestic battery

San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane, who has been firmly denying accusations made by his estranged wife Anna that he bet on his own NHL games, is now facing new claims of sexual assault and domestic battery.

And right on que, when the gambling allegations proved to be fail, the ex has taken to the usual feminist tactic.

Front Office Sports reporter A.J. Perez obtained court documents pertaining to a domestic violence restraining order application filed on Tuesday by Anna Kane as part of her divorce case in California, which include allegations of sexual assault and “multiple instances” of domestic battery at the hands of Kane.

This, if it was true, should have come out first.  As it is, I see this as a desperation move by this ex.

This past summer, Kane reportedly requested and received a temporary restraining order against Anna, telling the courts that she was violent toward him in the past, claiming she hit him “seven to eight times in the face with her fist” during an argument, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Oh, now I get it!  We have another A.Turd 💩, where it IS the wife who IS the abuser.

If I did not know better, I think the NHL is trying to find a reason to suspend Kane, and now it looks like they got their wish.

Sharks’ Evander Kane suspended 21 games for submitting fake COVID-19 vaccination card

The NHL has suspended San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane for 21 games for submitting a fake COVID-19 vaccination card.

      A fake card?  Really?

The league on Monday announced the suspension without pay and said Kane will not be eligible to play until Nov. 30 at New Jersey. Kane will forfeit about $1.68 million US of his $7 million salary for this season with the money going to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

A quarter of his season/pay?  I wonder what that number will be after an appeal/arbitration?

The league also announced that a concurrent investigation into allegations of sexual and physical abuse made against Kane by his estranged wife, Anna, could not be substantiated.

Kane had previously been cleared by the NHL in an investigation into allegations made by Anna Kane that he bet on hockey games, including some against the Sharks.

      Some good news at least.

As will any messy divorce, the estranged wife will throw everything to see what might stick, truth be damned!

The Sharks have not said what Kane’s status will be after the investigations.

So they are leaving the door open to a trade (or more likely he will be put on waivers to never see the NHL again).

      Update:

Sharks place forward Evander Kane on waivers Sunday

The San Jose Sharks have placed forward Evander Kane on waivers and plan to send him to the AHL if he isn’t claimed by another team.

And if he is not picked up?

If Kane clears waivers, he is expected to report to the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL on Tuesday. It is uncertain when he will be ready to play.

Other than getting picked up, it is looking very much like Evander’s days of being on an NHL roster is done.

Evander Kane held pointless in first game with San Jose Barracuda

After clearing waivers, Kane was re-assigned to the AHL, joining the Barracuda.

It is the first time in Kane’s career that he is playing in the AHL.

      Kane’s NHL career is done.

How long he stays in the AHL is another question… so long as he has a contract is my guess.

      After that…. who knows.

      #253303

      And we got an answer:

Sharks plan to terminate Evander Kane’s contract

The San Jose Sharks have placed forward Evander Kane on unconditional waivers with the intent to terminate the remainder of his $49 million, seven-year contract.

      OK, what caused this?

The Sharks said Saturday that they made the move because Kane violated COVID-19 protocols in the AHL where he is currently playing for the Barracuda. The team said it would have no further comment.

The termination of the contract will cost Kane about $22.9 million remaining from the contract he signed in May 2018.

So the protocol could be anything so minor, but used as an excuse?

…Kane’s agent, Dan Milstein. “If he clears, we will file a grievance. The Sharks do not have sufficient grounds for taking this action.”

      Who else?

…the union (NHLPA) also “intends to challenge any such action by filing a grievance.”

Of course they will.  Not like they have anything more important to do.

      #253339

The Sharks placed Kane on unconditional waivers Saturday in order to terminate his contract. San Jose cited “breach of his NHL Standard Player Contract and for violation of the AHL COVID-19 protocols.”

      Well, Kane clears waivers.

We still don’t know what AHL protocols were violated, but we do know he and the PU will file a grievance ASAP.

I am sure his ex is enjoying watching his life and career BURN, after the lies and falsehoods she spread did not do it.

NHLPA files grievance as Sharks officially terminate Evander Kane’s contract

      Of course they have.

“With support of the National Hockey League, the Sharks are alleging that Kane, who tested positive for the coronavirus on Dec. 21, made a flight to Vancouver on December 29th and they are saying he did not have permission to take that flight, medical clearance to take it, and that is being disputed.

“Also they said he was supposed to return to San Jose, the Barracuda’s of the AHL, on Dec. 31 and did not come back until Jan. 6, also that is being disputed.”

      So is the PA disputing the facts that;

      • he did NOT test positive?
      • he did not travel?
      • he did not travel internationally?
      • he did have permission to travel?
      • he did not break any covid protocols?
      • he returned to his team ontime?

      What are they thinking?

Oilers officially sign Evander Kane to one-year contract

The Edmonton Oilers have officially signed Evander Kane to a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday, mere hours after the NHL said its investigation into whether or not the embattled forward had breached COVID-19 protocol produced “insufficient evidence” to determine a violation knowingly occurred.

The Oilers knew they had to do something about their recent slump and playoff hopes.

Kane can help them for sure.
