Hey G & G fans! i was hoping that some of the more technical fans could help me out with a technical issue I’ve been having lately. I have been trying to get OBS to play audio while I am playing games from consoles so that i can hear music and enemies to react to them. Unfortunately, i haven’t been able to do so. I used to be able to at least get sound for recording sessions, but I have lost that ability as well. I have also looked up several guides on how to fix my issue, but I still can’t figure it out. any tech savvy folks willing to answer my question? ty for reading my post regardless.

Question 1: Are you using a capture card?

Make sure you have created an Audio Input for your capture card on the OBS scene you are using. The video feed and the audio feed are two separate things.

Question 2: Are you sure you have everything turned on for you selected scene?

I know these days when I’m switching back and forth between streaming and video work, I sometimes forget to turn things back on. Twice this week I forgot to turn my mic back on and did whole takes without it feeding into OBS.

yeah, i have a Zasluke (USB 3.0). I have an Audio Input and Audio Output. Do i need both or just one?

as far as the scenes though, I think I have all I need switched to monitor and output. IDK for sure though, cus this stuff gets confusing to me.

That might be your problem. Your capture card should be only two things on OBS:

    1) Video Capture Device

    2) Audio Input Capture

You don’t need to hear what’s going on through OBS and the capture card while you are either streaming or recording. That is for your videos and your audience.

If you have both those two things set up for your chosen scene, your card should be feeding in the video and audio from your console.

If you are trying to stream or record from your PC and OBS, just record through your monitor on OBS, unless you feel the need to be FPS elite. Then you’ll probably have to reconnect your capture card to your monitor and redo your Video Capture Device settings.

    Hi, MrDinoSox.

I had a similar problem with my OBS and found the solution here – https://streammentor.com/best-obs-audio-settings

I needed to set up my audio filters.

    Hope this helps!
