I created a similar thread in the Television forum and thought why not create one here.

What movies would you folks recommend to lift your spirits in these troubling times?

A few of my recommendations would be:

Pirates of the Caribbean – Curse of the Black Pearl

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

    Grown Ups

Jumanji – Welcome to the Jungle

    Sonic the Hedgehog

    Finding Nemo

Whenever i feel down i tend to watch Thor

The first time i watched it i was having a particcularly shitty day, i was actually still crying when the movie started, but as the movie went on i calmed down, till the scene where Thor goes to steal back mjölnir from S.H.I.E.L.D., and when he hears thunder he has the biggest smile on his face, that symple scene just managed to cheer me up so much, i went from being in tears to having a smile on my face as big as Thor’s 😄⚡

My advice?  Listen to some good songs and sing along.

As for movies, don’t laugh, but I like movies like the Mothman Prophecies to get me away from the real world nonsense.

No laughing here, everyone is different. I know a couple of people that indulge in gory horror films to take their minds off things and it works for them. I however, wouldn’t be able to sleep for days…lol

I really enjoy horror movies, but not to cheer me up, i’ll usually watch them if i need to really work or think hard on something to push my brain to the limit 😁

Doomcock posted this a while back:

I don’t know that Pulp Fiction belongs on that list, but it’s his list, and mostly it’s movies that do make me feel good although I haven’t seen all of them.

Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy.  Ever since I first saw them as a kid, those films have always cheered me up and given me hope.  I know the third film is pretty weak compared to the first two, but it still has redeeming qualities.  Spider-Man 2 remains my favorite.

Peter’s conversations with Uncle Ben and Aunt May in these movies are still moments of inspiration to me today.

              Spider-Man-2-2004

Personally I think the first one is by far the best. I think I like 2 the least, too much annoying MJ drama and the final fight was really terrible. But yeah, those are some good movies!
