Has anyone ever seen Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful from 2013? For those who don’t know, it was sort of like a prequel to the Wizard of Oz showing us how Oz became the Wizard of Oz. I remember seeing it in theaters and really enjoying it. But does Disney onw The Wizard of Oz? If not, how were they able to make the film in the first place? I just got the movie for free. It was 500 points on Disney Movie Rewards and I had 525 points so I got the Blu-Ray for free.

I’ve watched Oz The Great and Powerful a couple of times, it’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but I remember enjoying it

Original Wizard Of Oz was made by MGM 🦁 But the sequel, Return To Oz, and Prequel were both made by Disney, so I’m assuming Disney bought the rights to make Wizard Of Oz movies somewhere between the original (1939) and sequel (1985), don’t know if that means they own the rights to the original too

I have not as of yet.

Still have not purchased it on DVD – price is not right yet.  NO, I refuse to pay-per-view.

And I heard somewhere that Disney plans on… re-imagining the classic using modern political BS on all the characters, something the SJW’s will approve of buy not purchase a dime worth of merchandise/tickets to financially support it.

Gotta support the original film. If Disney does remake The Wizard of Oz, no thanks. I’d much rather buy the original film on 4K.
