      Is it good?  Yes.

Is it Trek? yes and no

It is not Roddenberry’s Trek filled with hope and positivity.

It is Abram’s Trek full of the realities and grit of life we typically watch Star Trek to escape from.

Enjoyable yes, hopeful and positive.  Not so far.

The first two episodes were just a retread of the opening of Discovery with nostalgia bait actors:
-Anomalous craft just out of range of the main ship forcing an away mission
-First officer commits an act of mutiny against their captain after speaking with a more experienced one
-Smaller ship gets saved by larger ship’s tractor beam/Smaller ship gets saved by larger ship blocking enemy tractor beam
-Character leaves sickbay prematurely to arrive on the bridge
-Character is clever enough to break out of force field cell
-The “trust no one” line potentially setting up another Voq/Tyler arc

I’ve also seen a number of comparisons to 24, from Raffi’s drug-abusing agent arc, to insubordination against a weak boss for the greater good, waking up an injured character to gain critical information, even the dim lighting of the Titan having meant to evoke the CTU office.

Also, why the need for another thread after having not only been aware of, but posting in the previous one?

The other thread wasn’t mine it was someone elses.  I chose to make my own to take it in a different direction.

As an old school Trekkie, I am liking it a lot. I watched episode one twice, never done that before. This is the best Trek since Enterprise went off the air imo.

I am not saying it’s bad.  In fact so far it is good.  It’s just not the same cadence or storylines of TNG, Voyager or DS9.  Maybe it is time it evolved.  That is fine.  I just don’t want it to be dark and this one tends to lean that way.

I think this is a bait’n switch waiting to happen.

The producers/writers needed to get real Trekkies back (increase viewership/ad revenue), to only later give them the middle finger.

For me, I no longer care about the current non-Trek versions of ST.  Picard is NOT Trek.  It is NOT what Roddenberry created.  It is NOT part of my Star Trek Canon.

I am watching Season 3 standalone ignoring the first 2 seasons of garbage.
