Only when government bailout money runs dry, then and only then will they realize they need to make a profit/make things the PAYING customer WANT to pay for, and not catering to the demented twitter mob that virtue signals but won’t buy anything anyway.

I won’t be watching it. Knew it was going to be bad the moment I told my dad about it and he said “Amazon haven’t a hope in hell”. There are some similarities between LotR and GoT but SMALL. LotR is very heavily reliant on fantasy. GoT doesn’t. I’m amazed that Tolkien’s family have allowed this.

@Dragonlady, Have to ask when you say this.

You do know the Asoiaf books actually do have a lot of fantasy in them. Dumb and Dumber left it out of the TV-show, why, no idea, but it really hurt the show imo. This is another point where I believe Amazon will fail. If they try the GOT recipe <seasons 1 through 4> and leave out most of the fantasy, well another reason it will fail.

Yes I’ve read the books (I always make it a point to read books first and then watch the film or tv series that I’m interested in watching if they’re based on them). I’m also aware that they didn’t have much fantasy in the tv series other than the dragons and giants.

@Dragonlady… dont forget spideys we needed spideys lol.

Ya the more and more I keep looking at things related to the show, the more it looks like they are trying to use the GOT S1-4 Template and its going to fail. It needs its High Fantasy, It needs to be based off the books as far as Culture(s) and it just needs to remember to take us to a place we already know and dont try and change it…

When will they learn to stop trying to fix what worked.

Give it a few years. These corporations will get tired of losing money and come back to reality.

There most likely wouldn’t be a free society in a few years so it won’t be back to normal. The spread of Communism in the Western world is why we have a woke mob at all. If that’s not dealt with, having your favorite franchise filled with identity politics will be the least of your worries. Just look at China.

I wish I had magical powers like Gandalf so that I could teleport all the SJWs in our world into Middle Earth and put them in an area filled with Orcs. I would love to see what happens, the SJWs would either get enslaved by the Orcs or let us just say the Orcs are gonna have fun playing rough with these blue hairs? Lol 😂😀

The Vandalization of Lord of the Rings

The Tolkien Society’s ‘Tolkien and Diversity’ conference is days away and if there was ever a good case for gatekeeping this would be it. Unfortunately this is being perpetrated by the guardians of Tolkien’s legacy. Along with all of the other pieces of our western culture we have lost under the guise of ID politics, this conference plans to rewrite, rationalize, and vandalize Tolkien’s Legendarium. Not get ahead of LOTR on Prime, but to get in line with it. Tolkien has been sold out.

Quickly, for those that do not yet a copy of the novels or the movies, get it NOW in physical medium.

They will corrupt the novels by inserting things (Pun is very much intended!) that was never park of Tolkien’s work, IMO.

I am sure everyone who read the work’s of Tolkien just HAD to know how Dwarves and Elves reproduce, if they had a bigger banana than the mighty Jeremy (G&G), etc.

Or why the Elves had such low birth rates, ie. they could only mate heterosexually once every one hundred year and spent the other 99 years in homosexual relationships, etc.

In some fables, all Dwarves had beards.  I can see them making it so that all Dwarven then shemales.

What are some perversions you can see them doing?

Did that ten years ago when I got the special extended edition of LotR on blue-ray as well as The Hobbit a few years later. I’ve also kept the original versions of the Harry Potter books and probably just as well I did since from what I’ve heard they’ve been edited because today’s kids don’t understand them. I’m guessing that they’ll do the same with Tolkin’s works to the point where he and his son will be doing the Olympic Gymnastics in their graves…

I don’t know how true this is, twenty-years later:

‘Lord of the Rings’ Stars Say Peter Jackson Resisted Pressure to Kill a Hobbit

Franchise stars Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd are using their new podcast The Friendship Onion to divulge a number of behind the scenes details about the blockbuster films, which first hit theaters in 2001 with the release of The Fellowship of the Ring. Among the many things Monaghan and Boyd, the actors behind Merry and Pippin, respectively, have revealed is a potential character death that director Peter Jackson successfully evaded.

        What?  Who?

In an interview with IGN, the two actors share that at one point, Jackson was facing pressure “from above” to kill off one of the film’s four leading Hobbits — Frodo, Sam, Pippin and Merry. This would have marked a significant pivot from what Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien wrote in his own series, in which all four Hobbits survive. Ultimately, Jackson rejected the producers’ ask, ensuring each of the beloved characters made it to the end of the trilogy.

Well, we see now how the new Middle Earth series will NOT follow Tolkien’s writing, by adding in SH!T that was never meant to be in Middle Earth.

While discussing the possibility of which Hobbit might have been axed had Jackson actually agreed to the request, Monaghan said it would have “definitely” been him, before breaking down exactly why.

        How so?

“It’s a good job that didn’t happen because it would have been me,” he said. “There’s no way they are killing Frodo and Sam, and the only ones that would be left would be Merry and Pippin. They wouldn’t kill Pippin because Pippin has a really strong story with Gandalf.”

While the actor said he was “thankful that didn’t happen,” he also offered up some reasoning for Jackson’s refusal to kill one of the four characters, saying the director “stuck by his guns.”

“I think Pete quite rightly was like, ‘This is a luminary piece of written work, and we need to stick close to the text,’” Monaghan said.

Too bad the people doing new Middle Earth care not for the source material, as it is just a means to get their woke/agenda out.
