So why is Geeks and Gamers censoring people?

4) Paste your comment and submit

I’d love to know what was censored. Regardless, I knew freedom of speech would be limited eventually. It’s what always happens when you hire anyone from the LGBT community. Deny the harsh truth all you want, but they have been the backbone of everything wrong in Western society since gay marriage became legal.

You don’t see Japan having any of that before the 2010s and they aren’t afraid of using any homosexuality/lesbian/transvestism in their media. I may get modded but I’m not being politically correct for anybody. Where I’m from, I have something called the Constitution and its first amendment gives me the freedom of speech.

Every now and then someone accuses the site staff of being woke, and their proof is tenous at best.

I don’t think anyone on Geeks & Gamers is all that particularly conservative or even right-wing – Even if some of them might’ve voted for Trump – They’re against SJW’s because they recognize them for the bullies that they are and think it’s wrong that right-wingers are getting deplatformed by Big Tech just for their opinions.

I don’t know to what extent these forums are moderated; I can’t speak for the site staff. But it seems to me they allow a lot of leeway into what people here can say. Niko was allowed to post his schizophrenic nonsense for several months before seemingly deleting his account. I know of several message boards in the 2000s that would’ve banned him in less than week. Not for anything he believes in, but for his piss-poor attitude and resorting to cheap insults whenever anyone confronted him on his positions. It was completely detrimental to any kind of conducive environment or good-faith discussion and I’m pretty sure it factored into several of the first-time members from nearly a year ago leaving and never coming back.

I respect the site staff for standing up freedom of speech, but their rules for general conduct are rather vague and ill-defined (though, I admit, the distinction can be a fine line sometimes. People are allowed have opinions that might be considered by others as unpleasant, but it’s another matter if they use their views as an excuse to treat someone with utter disrespect).

If anyone has any posts/comments going straight to moderation, please let us know (with a screen cap attached if possible). I’ll have to double check on this, but I believe it’s our spam filter kicking in if there are too many links or pics.
