Does anything else think this is disgusting, as it is a slow who claims their audience is children?

If this was on Adult Swim… but it is not!

Has this been memory holed by everyone?

Did anyone actually watch this… whatever you call it?

Trek stopped with Enterprise if not before.  Everything else is negative, dark, black pilled trash.

@Vknid : I loved Enterprise. I would join Archer’s crew in a heartbeat. He was a great captain.

But ya, the majority of Star Trek since Enterprise has been garbage.

I surprisingly like Strange New Worlds though. Ya, I can’t believe it either, but I enjoyed it. Prodigy is also pretty good for a kids show.

But man, this Lower Decks stuff. “wth is even that” as Gary plays the soundbite. I didn’t know it went that bad. I watched the very first episode, and never watched again. I didn’t like it at all.

The thing is, Star Trek from its inception has been a positive message of hope foreshadowing a bright future for the human race contingent on a number of things.  Namely, humans as a whole being openminded and understanding in all things from social matters to science.  But that open-mindedness and understanding was always tethered and encouraged by a morality formed through caring about other people and caring for them above the self.

Now, Star Trek’s “vision” has decayed into something dark, negative, hopeless and seedy.  I believe this is because the hacks writing it are themselves these things and the root of such feelings are the antithesis to what formed the morality of Star Trek, the concern for others above the self. So that morality is gone and all that is left is an insidious focus on self destroying Star Trek as we know it.

How many episodes of TNG, DS9 or Voyager were about self sacrifice?  Without that concept would there have even been the iconic moment when Spock gives up his life to save the ship?  Would there have been a following movie when those on the ship decide to give of themselves to in turn save Spock?  No.

In summary,  the no talent ass clowns writing current Trek have stabbed at the very heart of what made Star Trek, Star Trek. And in doing so murdering it for the foreseeable future until it might hopefully one day be resurrected by some group with actual talent and a true sense of understanding beyond the self.
