So, instead of making sequels that fit in the universe of the original trilogy, he wants to redo the original trilogy to fit into the universe of the sequels?

First, no. That’s not how things work. Y follows X, not X gets changed because Y is actually a wombat.

Second, if they can’t even make the sequels fit the originals, why should we think they can make some remake originals fit the sequels?

Just a bad idea that should not be taken serious. Which makes me fear it’s already in production.
