    Hello everyone,

I am starting to look at ideas for my my five year old’s birthday and Christmas and I could use some help. I would like to get him a game for the Switch, but he has a bit of a handicap when it comes to consoles. He’s played almost nothing but touchscreen games since he was a toddler and now he has difficulty with hand/eye coordination when using a controller. Any suggestions for Switch games appropriate for a five year old something with an easy learning curve?

    I appreciate any suggestions.

Mario Oddyssey. You can play as Mario and the kid can be Cappy or vise versa.

    Thanks Nintendrilo,
I have Mario Odessy but I haven’t really tried the 2 player option. His biggest issue is analog sticks especially the camera, but I will give it a shot. Unfortunately since I started this topic, the LR button on my joy con quit working so I have to sent it in for repair.

I’m open to any more suggestions?

Animal Crossing is a fun relaxing game that doesn’t require a lot of skill. You can try that one if you have working joy cons or a pro controller.

Animal Crossing is a good one for him. But if I’m you, I’d put NES and SNES online on the Switch and kinda go back in time to get him started on gaming. This is how I’m gonna get my daughter into gaming when she’s ready. (currently 23 months old)

Well, my son received Animal Crossing for his birthday and he’s hooked. I finally find a title that he can play and he is able to use the controller without having to take his eyes off the screen. I’m thinking the next title will be Pikmin 3 since he loved playing the demo. I appreciate the advice.
